Hi john101 welcome to the site. If you are new to self-employment this year then don't worry too much about an accountant just yet. You will work a year in arrears. However most Tax years usually start 5th April or 1st Nov. Expect to pay on average around £350 for a good accountant although I'm sure some one may say different. If you are low income then an accountant may charge you much less. Just keep all your receipts & enter it all into a small ledger book to save money. ( Tip _ ALWAYS write in pencil in a Ledger book so that changes can be made & submit any books like these again in pencil - Tax office get jumpy if ink is scribbled & altered & assume you may be dishonest - SAD but true!!! )You can of course do your own books & submissions on-line with the Tax office for free. Accountants can save you loads in the long run which out ways the cost for their services.

Just got our accountants bill (today by co-incidence), and it was £270. I agree that an accountant is worth paying, as they can save you loads in the long run...

Hi folks This is "weaklypaid" I've been a wild rover for many a year and admit to voyeurism on this site for a couple of months.
Now I have come out of closet as too many familiar bells are starting to ring.
Silly sod I really believed it was only me !! I've been with Hillarys for 9 years Tony H himself hired me back in the days when men were men and sheep were frightened. Now the sheep are running the show
HELP
" My name is weaklypaid and I am a compulsive blind fitter" Can anyone help me to change my sorry ways and find a fresh calling.??
I need to chase commission due as I see a lot of you are banging that drum. Ive tried the FSM route--no action Ive tried ringing No response Ive tried emailing--no response Now I get trickles of money and no statements for 5 weeks
I need to change my ways
