In olden days, before the birth of SAM, we were encouraged, when faxing in quotes, to put a reason for the quote in specal instructions i.e. customer having further quotes, wishes to consult partner etc. Would it not be a good idea if there was a facility on SAM to do this when sending a quote?
And while on the subject of quotes, is anyone out there getting theirs converted?

nope!!!!!! really frustrating thing is there is never any feed back on quotes which aren't converted.

Nope....me neither. No quotes converted for months. What's happening? I had put forward the idea to include valid reasons for leaving a 'quote' on SAM in the same way that we can put in the reason for discounts.
So far I've had nothing back on this ? Maybe people could also put this idea to IT aswell ?
I've not had too much trouble with samples being sent out but I feel better I can leave them self ( having an extra book on hand is very valuable ! ) .
I'm not too sure about the quotes dept right now.
If you are not busy then I'd suggest calling the customer back within 48hrs and try to convert it yourself. Discount what you will on these as any value is better than nothing at all !
Joy- I might be adding in some more tunes but if we have some requests then I'l look at it. Like I said before - it was only a whim so I can't imagine having loads on there as it might cause a legal issue !

My email was passed to about 8 different people at Hillarys, and read by all but one of them. (One was deleted before it was read! Charming!) I now have the email addresses of the whole quotes team... what could i do with them? Don't know happening in Quotes dept, but I've had 3 converted this week (4 if you count the one I phoned in and they claim), and not heavily discounted. In fact .... £967 quoted, £967 converted £499 quoted, £485 converted £255 quoted, £000 converted - I do hope that's a mis-print!
At those rates, well done quotes, let's have some more.
By the way, if I'm quoting 3/4/5 offers, I leave SAM at full list price, not offer price. Generally, whatever you price you leave in SAM or fax in, is the where quotes start from and work down.
