P. Yep ! Ditch the printer. Mine has been in a drawer for more than six months - considering it was the printer we paid for (SAM came free with the Vodafone contract) it was a big con and a complete waste of money. I had all sorts of problems, usually on the customer's premises which rather kills the mood of the sale, then I had a complete failure and had to send it back to Brother for repair, then I used it again for a couple of weeks but it was moodier than the missus with pmt, so I lost patience. I do use SAM extensively but then leave the customer a paper copy and complete my order through SAM at home later in the day. Not what was intended but it works for me.

P. 1. I assume you have checked the paper cassette is in the right way around, with the code appearing in the window? 2. It is fully charged? Low power may not drive the motor. 3. Tried switching it off, then on again. 4. Reset the PDA, or even swith off bluetooth and then on again. What message does SAM display when you tried to print? 5. If all else fails try the helpdesk in the morning, afternoon wheneven you can get througgh.

One thing I have found, is if somebody is using a wireless connection for their pc, sam will not find the printer. Even though it should hunt only for the connection given, it's not sending to the printer. Leave that area, and it prints.
Apart from that, mine also stops on occasions after printing 1 page, and then have to do a reset.
I agree with Russell - total con that you could not get SAM without buying a printer.

My printer had to be sent back to brother December 05 after only 6 months of use and had to have new motherboard. Fortunately this was in guarantee. Although the printer does work I have problems every time I put new paper in and at other times even when fully charged it decides it's not going to work usually in the customer's house and I have to resort to a paper receipt. It does seem a waste of money and if mine finally packs up I shall still use sam but with a paper receipt.

As far as I know you need to return the printer back to Brother for them to change the battery. Can't be changed by user.
Not sure of cost???

Under the 'Sale and supply of goods and services to consumers act ' the retailer is liable for the goods for up to 6 years. Three guesses who the retailer is ?
