Has anyone else noticed that sam has slowed right down since the last update? Had to quote for 35 blinds today on one job, started off slowish, after 10 it took longer to ad each blind. Then the customer asked me to break it down into 3 seperate quotes, 10, 13, 12 one for each floor. as i tried to take the ticks out it was taking minutes just to remove the price of one blind. gave up in the end as the bloke was clearly getting chuffed off, so went home redid it in sections and emailed him the quote.
didnt look very profesional tho.

Perception has a lot to do with setting expectations.
I had a lot of expectations from SAM and am a bit disappointed in what it offers, but that is because I am an IT consultant, who has taken a career change.
SAM is like all other PocketPC applications it uses the available resources as best it can, if you are low on memory, it will certainly run VERY slowly, go to START SETTINGS then Choose System Memory try and allocate more memory to 'program', if this is not possible then use the tab 'running programs'.
Failing that 'Stop' all the programs that you don’t need e.g. games email, anything you accidentally opened like notes, calendar or even calc . Don’t close down SAM, and Dairy View, unless you are desperate. (But ICT please don’t hold me responsible if they do ;-)
Unlike a PC a pocket PC does not close (stop) the program (and free up all its recourses) when you click on the X it puts the program/application/option into hibernation, a bit like an open window on your PC that you are not using, the problem is on the pocket PC is that it gets overloaded and you have to close these things down manually.
Just remember, the phone is running Microsoft software, this means in order for it to work correctly, it must be rebooted regularly. With your home PC this happens when you switch it off. Your SAM Phone PDA is running Microsoft software, It does also needs a regular reset and reload (called a reboot) to keep it working well.
So that I hope is my last bit of IT support after shifting careers and swapping the stress of IT for that of a blind man ;-)
Happy to help if I can, but please remember I got out of IT in order to have the demands placed upon me of a blind man ;-) so call your skilled IT department that can fix all your SAM problems rather than me.

Spot on euroweb. Just to reiterate. Be very careful when stopping programs from the running programs screen. The program may be killed rather than exited nicely so be sure that you have saved everything.
