Cheers. I will pop in from time to time and answer SAM related questions where I can. I know Kev checks in too.

Hi
Dare I ask an "off-the-wall" question?
Is it possible to have ones own email sent to and picked up off SAM (using the "You have Email" alert) even if one uses an ntl or yahoo or other such email system. I am not totally up to speed on SAM's capabilities. Would be hellish handy as I have family in Far East and they email me frequently and by the time I get home and relax and then sort it out on desk top another day has passed with them?? Do not want to mess up the Hillarys system but can it be done?
If you dont want to post answer here, can someone send me a pm, please Thanks

It would be useful to e-mail DORs in direct from the customers premises, rather than waiting until geting home.

With reference to e-mailing DORs direct from customers home, one of the things asked for at the meetings was the ability to raise DORs on SAM at time of fit. I believe this is being looked into

Cracking idea if we can learn how to acces own email on SAM. Anyone at HO willing or able to advise,PLEASE? ? As we pay for the thing it seems reasonable that we areshown how to maximise its benefits?? Any one else want this to happen? DB

i think there should be a course offered which would explain fully what the device is capable of. the original course satisfies the requirement of explaining the necessary for using SAM software but b*gger all else!

Yes, it would be handy to have email access. There is a whole chapter in the handbook dedicated to it, but not easy reading. As SAM runs MS Pocket Windows, presumably it could run MSN at least.
We all have Hillarys email addresses, but not the sort you'd want to give to customers. Mine is something like agent.114059@hillarys.co.uk, which then comes through to my ntlworld.com address.

DORs are on the list for requested developments but there is no set date as yet.
