I frequently get "unable to answer call" messages and missed calls. This is my fourth handset in 11 months, and I used to get it with the others, but it seems to be becoming more common. Does anyone else get this?
Is our Vodafone contract for 1 or 2 years? If 1, do we get a better upgrade

GVM, the contract is for 2 years.
How do you get to change your handset? I'm on my original one and am getting the same problems, in fact some of my contacts cannot hear me at all and I have to resort to texting

I'm on my original one and am getting the same problems, in fact some of my contacts cannot hear me at all and I have to resort to texting Phone SAM helpdesk with un-fixable problem. They transfer you to Vodafone and they arrange an exchange. Problems I've had to date .... Unable to answer call on sets 2,3 & 4 Losing phone network, even in sight of a mast!!!! Sets 2 & 3 Losing GPRS network, sets 2,3 & 4 Won't switch on/off. Set 1 as handed over by Hillarys on training day! Each exchange I've had has arrived on different day to that promised, and you need to have your old set dismantled ready to swap over. You then need to spend a pleasant 1/2 hour or so on the phone getting the software re-installed. Last time I did it, for some strange reason, Vodafone just delivered a new set, so I've got 2 now.

My little "pen" thing snapped in half this week, and Vodafone are refusing to replace it, even though it's only a few months old.( £5.32 plus VAT for a new one...) If the actual SAM didn't work, I would get a replacement "pen" with the replacement SAM...... mmmm. Might think about that one. GVM.... you must have a few spare? ? _______________________________________ Ok..... so it's called a stylus! Just bought 3 for £6.99 on ebay. They are 3 in 1 stylus/pen/reset pin AND guaranteed for 12 months.... ;D

Yes I have, I kept them at each exchange. Gone through a few though, only got 3 left!!! And I always call it "the pointy stick" it's the technical term!

I've also had phone problem. When I answer the phone they can hear me but I can't hear them. If I do a reset it's ok for awhile. Exchanged it once but have same problem with new one. Haven't bothered to change again just reset it each morning. Running out of styli (plural of Stylus ??) so think it's time for another change.

The pen thing/pointy thing/stylus is crap an doesnt last 5 mins. I use a propelling pencil. Means I can use SAM and make notes on paper without having to keep changing over

I never use the stylus on SAM - use a pencil. Costs almost nothing, lasts a lifetime, and much easier to grip than the 'pointy stick'. It will not mark the screen and will also write on paper. If you really want to impress the customer mix old and new technology - use a quill a.k.a. a large feather - works just great.
