Hi All I'm new to SAM, (haven't even used it yet - only got it the other day - my training was 4 months ago and don't want to thingy it up without a refresher course) but I have read with interest advisors comments regarding printing out data ...... As I haven't actually printed anything yet, just what is the problem for advisors when printing? and what do you want to print in a larger size? i.e. A4 Do you just want to be able to print copies of orders? Or perhaps a copy of the daily diary screen? Tell me what you want to do (obviously within the boundaries of the SAM program) ... and I'll see if I can find a solution or part-solution David David and Julie ("Secret" Agent Gibson)

does anyone know whether there is anyway of selecting what pages are printed off SAM? i regularly find that the printer runs out of paper halfway through printing an order and copy. when i reload it and reprint it, if it runs onto 2 or more pages then i end up with sheets and sheets, which of course is costing money!!. what i'd really like to do is, if it runs out of paper mid order that i can select page 2 only etc.

I looked into this some time ago for the same reason.

Don't know if it's being worked on though. If I think I'm getting near the end of a pack, or it could be a 3+ page order, I print 1 copy then another one. If it runs out I've only wasted half as much paper.

Funnily enough I was thinking how usefully this would be when I ran out of paper on a four page order today. Of course it was after the 3rd page it ran out

does anyone know whether there is anyway of selecting what pages are printed off SAM? i regularly find that the printer runs out of paper halfway through printing an order and copy. when i reload it and reprint it,... If the printer runs out in the middle of a print run, do not switch off the printer, and leave SAM alone, SAM display will show Error box - Out of Paper, with the option to Print or Cancell. The display will dim. Once paper has been loaded, click on the screen button PRINT, and it should re-start from where it last finished. If you quit sam or turn the printer off, you need to restart the printing from page 1. Another tip, print only 1 copy at a time, that way if it still goes pearshaped, you only have to reprint 1 copy of each page. This is one area, that SAM needs, a good user- guide.

The problem is that if you have to search for the paper at the bottom of your bag even if you don't touch SAM it times out before you've had time to replace paper. Ah then may be the simple answer is for the time to be lengthened for advisors who have loads of junk in their bag. Blind Scout you must be more organised than me and have paper at hand.

I always keep a new pack of paper at the back of the printer, in the holder

Got page 1, then had to completely restart.
