can anyone help. I had a customer with a window just under 4m wide, wanted capri vert. said i could do it for £199.00 which she was happy with. she then said could i do her a deal if she had her bedroom done aswell. This was again just under 4m wide so I said if she did the both I would do them for £300.00. I tried to input the order on sam which obviously quotes at £199.00 for the two, does anyone know how we can overide sam to increase cost of blinds rather than discount without reverting to a paper order. couldn't work it out so ended up doing for £199.00 for 2.

if you had put the 3 blinds into sam , it shouds of priced each blind at 99.50 the total for all 3 =298.50 better deal for customer and you would only lost 22p in commission, as it is now as you have just done the 2 if she wants the other window sam will charge at full retail price. in future put all blinds into sam and then discount you can take money off , put you can't put it on

By what your saying, doesn't sound as if you wanted a 3rd blind.
Nope doesn't seem a way of increasing prices, it won't take negative discounts which is a way a lot of software deals with it.
Shame as before SAM I found I often was able to push the prices up a little. Now I do a paper order.

No....you can't override SAM with the intent to oovercharge a customer for blinds.
I agree there are times when we would all like to do it (and have done before SAM) - not to rip the customer off, but simply to kill the sale when the customer is totally obnoxious and you dread the idea of having to return to fit.
It is only right that SAM stops this because, having advertised nationwide that we sell Capri 2 for £ 199.00 regardless of size, the company could then be hauled before the courts under all sorts of consumer protection issues if we overcharge, either deliberately or accidentally. SAM therefore stops this.
Personally I would have suggested splitting each 4 metre window into two blinds - giving you a £ 398.00 sale. This can be explained to the customer as having the same effect as a split bunch headrail but with the added benefit of having individual control over each half.
A practical consideration with such big windows is how are you going to get the blinds in your car anyway ?

Great answers hereticus - exactly how I was thinking when I read the first post - so you beat me to it !!!
Also - do you want to risk a large blind like that not working, as I'm getting problems with some of the longer ones right now.

ordering blinds that length means they come by carrier, who have habit of wrecking them or leaving outside the clients house in the rain

Our van can take a vert rail over 4m, problems are on your car/van, as even a roof rack makes for a rail that could be damaged by the wind as you travel at 100mph getting to all these appointments in the same time slot.
Splitting the rail is a tactic I use, but remember to reverse the lead carriers and make 1 left bunch/controls the other right.
On pricing Hillaries do not offer a National price. Different areas have different price tables. Capri in Scotland atm is 2 for 159 under 2m and 2 for 169 over 2m, for 3.5" louvres. 5" louvres are cheaper. Clouds are 2 for 109 >2m 135<2m. Clouds on sell up are 3 for 149. So maybe easier to sell up from 3 for 99 as I managed to do today. Don't sell many 5" as windows mainly Tilt & Turn, with narrow ingles, so 5" will be difficult to operate if fitted. But today Pepe White now finished, that leaves me Georgia Sunshine, in the 3.5 samples. Yipee.
However, SAM gets the price wrong if 1 blind is under the other over 2m, prices each seperately.

Hi YOYO Have you been on to the Hillarys web site and downloaded the new winter price update? This is different to the Sam upgrade itself. You can always work out the price manually and then change the price on SAM before sending it off. Red
