thanks for the info.
It would be very interesting to see if they allowed us to source the printer ourselves.
When I started with SAM the cost of the printer wasn't much cheaper elsewhere and believe me I checked !
P.
ps, it's ok to register you know...

it would also be interesting if they repaid the cost of the printers to us, because in reality there is no real reason to have one.we could just carry on giving normal yellow copys. my printer works when it want to when i raised this with my fsm he just said carry on as you are. so hillarys know they are not being used properly.

I have the printer (only because it never occured to me NOT to have it - this is whats so good about this site - learning from other agents' experience). I also had the same trouble with it working when it felt like it, and I assumed it was down to poor reception areas. Someone on here suggested doing a soft reset on your SAM every morning after the housekeeping has been completed. It worked for me... although I don't know why it does.... I suggest you try it. My printers been fine since.

If you have to many programmes running the printer will not operate. Go into settings ,memory and close programmes that are not required this will increase memory available to run print programme.

The cost is not for just the printer. It is also for the case, the SD card and some other bits and bobs you need. You can get the printer for a little less else where but if it goes wrong Hillarys wont be able to do as much to help you. I know that Hillarys will try to lend one of their printers whilst Brother fix it if it has to go back under waranty.

.... I know that Hillarys will try to lend one of their printers whilst Brother fix it if it has to go back under waranty. Phoned IT support yesterday as the printer charging socket has detached inside. All they offered me was Brothers telephone number. SAM is now printerless. I will still use for ordering, but need to revert to paper copies for a customer receipt.

Did you ask for a loan printer?

Brother said turn-around time for normally around 5 days. I would probably have mine back before the Hillary's one arrived, especially if they used the van runs. Cost over 4ukp to send though, by recorded delivery. Not sure if Brother will re-imburse.

Hi Blind Scout Re bother saying turn round time is 5 days, their have had mine 4 wk and still got it, I think that there are so many in for repair, IT don’t have any spare left, may be we should be asking for a better model this one doesn’t seem to be up to it. In fact Hillarys should sort this out as we bought it from them in the Sam package.

Re Printers Just to let you know IT loaned one to me ,had it for about 3 weeks then they returned mine. I sent the replacement back on Thurs. There does seem to be a problem with the model. Is anyone having trouble with the SAM machine. My screen seems to have a mind of its own these days. Sick of having to do resets during the day. Plus unfortunately v.poor signal in our area. Iwas going to start using it for calls but think I will stick to my O2. MM
