Cheers Dave. Yep I like Southend, has it's own tacky character. We take visitors down there and treat them to fish & chips and a paddle Also like the casino but that's another story

Those were the days ay? we'll have to make do with Peter Pans!! LOL Can someone enlighten the dumb blonde...........haven't got a scooby doo what you're on about!!! Karen ;D The Kursall was the original c1930's open air fair ground at Southend-on-Sea and you entered it through a grand old entrance which is still standing in all it's glory, it is however, no longer a fair ground for some years now and I think it closed finally in the early 80's or some time back then, there were a couple of fires and the last one was it's demise if memory serves me right. The grand entrance now leads into a bowling alley, the rest of the land has been developed into flats and a casino. Peter Pan's playground was developed before it's closure as the modern fair ground atttraction probably in the late 70's which has grown over the years and now has some reasonable rides but still has the original Big Wheel albeit an old steel one that keeps getting a lick of paint each year. Blimey I sound like an old historian, not that old, and I do get out, but the Kursall was a popular place in its day - well around ere it is anyway. Hope this answered your question Karen apologies if it went on some
