Just returned from a week in Phugly's place in Salobrena - superb ! Lovely town, superb accomodation, good restaurants and bars, and plenty to do if you are that way inclined - we just chilled and relaxed, and watched dolphins from the beach, but next time will explore further. Thoroughly recommend it to all of you with just one qualification - lots of hills and steps so not great for the elderly, infirm, or kids in pushchairs. We'll be back, so hoping you don't all rush at once until we get our next booking reserved.
The forum seems to have been very quiet in my absence - is it something I said, or are you all still reeling from the roadshows.
On returning I downloaded the latest SAM update and notice that Hillarys have given us an oppurtunity to make our point very strongly regarding CLG. The 'sales outcome' menu now gives an option to classify a lost sale as 'incorrect info given', which I interpret to mean information given out by CLG, or implied in adverts, that is untrue or misleads the customer i.e silly pricing, non-existent product options, and many other things that we have constantly discussed on this forum.
Can I suggest that we all use this option to the full. If any sales call is frustrated by the customer having been given false expectations, make sure that we always select this menu choice then, in a couple of months time, we can request an analysis from the SAM team of the frequency of this type of problem and, on the back of that, lobby to get something done about CLG product knowledge, supervision, phone quotes, etc.
What do you all think ?

Good point , Hereticus--I for one will use that option--where its called for. I wonder if we really would get a true printout of results after the first quater on this, as I fear we might get a sanitized version. Doubt they would want to publicly confirm the already widespread knowledge of CLG's ignorance on things practical, and their desire to get agents over door-steps whatever the cost to them--or the plain unlikelyhood of a sale resulting. You will now think--thats the old sceptic Bear again, and probably so, but when you've been round the block 50 times it takes there to be a MAJOR change in the landscape before you notice it. I will run with it though ( to ensure my scepticism is well founded!!) Things have been quiet since you left at the height of a "ruck-and-maul" re name and mud slinging 10 days ago. As an old grizzled man of the woods I had a word with a couple or 3 of the loudest egos on this forum and we all reached a mutual understanding about the futility of facing up Hillaryus on here. Suffice to add, it was good to see Blindsfitter here last week putting down in print his changed attitude, and I thank him a lot for holding his fire over an appalling Hillarys thingy-up on his acount last wekend which caused him 2 lost sales and 2 wasted trips. He has taken my advice, and was happy for me to publicise our meetings (and pints) and magnanimous of him to follow with a posting of apology for "some" of his posts, and his agreement to consider my alternative methods of restoring his clawbacks and other things we dont mention here like STOLEN COMMISSION! Maybe its advancing years, maybe its the zeal of the convert, but Red mist and such things have not achieved a result here, --don't I know it!. Frankly neither has open disscussion with Hillarys, or as open as you can get when they decide to ignore us , whichever way we approach them. We have had several new members since you went off to the sun, and we now seek to resurge this site , which to Hillarys would be a startling reminder of our continued presence, especially as one eminent senior manager called us " a handful of aged whingers" at one of the Seminars where drink was offered by the Company. Just received an email from Hillarys saying you will be shortly receiving a new advisor handbook. Sadly we have found the 0800 phone number for advisors is incorrect. Is nothing they produce ever double checked? Every time we get new paper price lists or spec sheets there is always a mistake. At least this one we should all spot.

Pricing Vert rails only 3.5 white width 208.5 = £29; width 179.3 = £33. Customer only wanted a quote and queeried why the bigger window was cheaper. Quick thinking excused my mistake in putting the wrong room against the size. Thankfuly it was a quote, would you believe that, and SAM printout doesn't show sizes.

Yes, I had this happen to me a few weeks ago. One rail only 2 foot long was more expensive than a sloping rail at 10 foot long, but dont you just get fed up of chasing your tail and just accept the price. The alternative is to waste a couple of hours on the phone talking to people that cant do anything about it or dont know how to.
