This is my 8th year with Hillarys. When I joined it was a prestige brand and I had to use all my skills to sell against cheaper opposition. Now, sadly, this prestige brand is viewed by the public as 'downmarket'. A comment from one customer with a customer number beginning 160...... said to me ' I was a little wary of ringing you again as I thought you only sold cheap blinds now' As regards leads, I am horrified at the lack of leads some of you are experiencing. I have the opposite problem. I cover 5 postcodes. In one there are four of us, in another two there are two of us and the same in the other two. For the last two weeks I have had four sales appointments placed in every three hour period. The result is inevitable, in the evening for example, i am coming out of my second appointment at 8.45 and am 16 miles from home . Where would you go next ? Yes it's a no brainer. So I call the other two leads and explain the situation, tick 'Advisor not available' The rebook rate is about 10% Result, 'Don't ring Hillarys they never turn up' I am convinced that the board are hellbent on driving Hillarys into the ground. Tony spent 31 years building this company into the largest blind company in the UK with a reputation for quality (yes things did go wrong then!) These people must be breaking his heart with what they are doing to his creation. I consider myself to be a fairly positive salesman but I am now considering whether I am selling the right product.
