My blinds arrived today , as usual in a Non-Hillary's van , ie livered up in a Nottingham Firm - a nice l o n g white mercedes or similar .
The driver is my usual man , and as he backed into my drive , i ran out . Had to protect my lovely car parked near the house. Well i could n't believe what happened........
First he scrapped the rear near side of said van on my heavy concrete gate post , then as he swung around (still in reverse) his off side rear hit my neighbours house party wall. This smashed his rear lamp and creased the back panel !
I was gob-smacked but kept calm , expecting the driver to stagger out pi**ed! Mind you this was 9.15 am ! , His explanation ....' i had the radio on' ?
The damaged to property was light , but his van was wrecked!
I have had Hillary's vans hit my cars before now , So as a warning to you all , Watch 'em in if at all possible , there blooming dangerous ! No wonder the blinds inside the van get damaged , just think what they have to go through !
Any way , i don't suppose the driver is'nt too worried , he's on £9 an hour i expect - a sight more than me !

Morning all! Is anyone there having the same problem a s us with the delivery? We either get: Invoice and no blinds Invoice and some of the blinds No invoice and all blinds No invoice and someblinds For example last delivery received invoice and louvres but no headrails for one customer. Received invoice but no wooden blind or valance! What is going on in despatch? ; This is causing us real stress as we are constantly letting customers down on fit dates and they in turn are getting discounts from head office! Karen )

Hi Karen it seems that everything is being done that quick at the minute that more errors are creeping in to deliveries. I too have suffered part orders turning up. I think some bigger orders are made at both factories as well. As i have mentioned in the past the quickest way to get missing invoices is to ring Credit Control direct, they then post them to you.

Hi Dolly The service centre are finding this a strain at the moment too I think as they are getting many calls from advisors and customers complaining about deliveries. Might help if as many of us as poss email Andrew.Jackson@Hillarys.co.uk he's the Despatch Manager with some examples of what's been happening. You never know........some action may be taken!! Glad you finally got fed last night! ;D Karen

Morning Karen, yep, getting all those. Have a set I'm due to fit today, got invoice and headrail, no louvres. My experience is this seems more common with Washington product, and they're also more likely to be late. I had one period where I was getting invoices and no, or part, deliveries so frequently, that I was convinced they were invoicing before the blinds were made. Or at the very least, raising invoices at Notts. while blinds still in Washington. Makes their overdues look better, and to hell with the consequences

On talking to the Service Centre, they are convinced there's a black hole somewhere where all the missing blinds are going! I know it's a pain, but perhaps we should email Andrew.Jackson also when our delivery is mucked up so that he really is aware of what's going on. I've also found that when a carrier is requested the blinds very rarely get sent out by carrier and are left to the next delivery! Have one customer today who's managed to get 20% now off his wood venetian due to the lateness of his delivery. Firstly, the blind was never released at head office so 10% discount there and now it hasn't turned up for install today so another 10% given there to the customer! What a nice wake up call for me this morning!! Karen ;D

Just had another thought too...........oh my brain hurts!! Why do we bother having the terms and conditions printed on the Order Wallett if the customer is constantly given a discount when the blinds miss the install date? Point 5 states: "Any estimated delivery or fitting dates specified by Hillarys are approximate only and not a term of the agreement." Karen ;D

Karen ) As I have said on here earlier Karen. I dont give discounts for the simple reason, I dont book them in until everything is here, including invoice. I just put them all in to SAM for an am slot that I dont use for sales two weeks from when I take the order.cross off the fit date on the Sam invoice then tell them I will be in touch. Works for me. Mind you, with only one fitting this week that came on the van I have plenty of chioce of when to do... IT. Red
