Because of the time it takes to get through to Hillarys by phone and the time lapse if I email I've started using the self generated lead booking facility on SAM to book in appoints to survey conservatories and also when I need to go back to a customer as only did rough measurements ( due to time or unfinished window etc).
This works great, books up the availability straight away (well at next update) and gives me the appt to enter the order against.
My FSM says it will not effect lead effect figures as self-gens appts aren't included but orders are. I'm not 100% convinced, do you know different ?? Don't really care about the figures anyway but just interested and thought a useful tip if others hadn't thought about it.

Been using self gen through SAM for a while. Also told it doesn't affect SMR, but as they're totally inaccurate and I don't get bonus, I don't really care. Also use self gen if I need an hour off for dentist etc. Just book myself as a lead ;D ;D

I've been using the facility since it started but haven't been using it for other purposes till recently.
Good idea for time off as well, I'll have to get the pub registered as a customer ;D

BW, (a fan of SAM) Some good tips there, and I confirm that in my experience what your FSM says is correct - self generated appointments are not included in your conversion figures, but the resulting orders do enhance your lead effect. I was up at Nottingham yesterday and spent some time with Kevin Beardsley, when I had a sneak preview of some of the changes planned for SAM in mid July. I won't steal his thunder but there are some useful changes coming, one of which helps to further this particular discussion. Sam will offer options under self generated leads so that you can book in as a sale, a service call, a fit, a DOR return visit, etc. This will help in many ways but to my mind the major benefit is that it will enable us to reschedule fitting appointments (blinds not delivered, customer not available, etc) by closing off the original appointment as 'unsuccessful' and then generate a new fit appointment through SAM. Apart from anything else this will release the slots from the original fit date, opening them up again for possible sales appointments, which could have a big impact on reducing lead to diary times. I also had a sneak preview of a possible new 'global' order entry system about to go into beta testing and possible for the July update, but I won't pre-empt Kevin on this other than just to whet your appetites for more information.

It does not matter to me either what my monthly report says as it means nothing to me. I do not get any bonus now either so if I do not meet any sort of criteria it makes no difference, only the income I earn is what matters to me now. That is what feeds my two small children and keeps them warm in winter, not facts and figures. Red

It was "stopped" before I became full time. I've heard of others going on to it since though

Anyone able to let us know what is or was the bonus scheme please? Bonus scheme was/is, Achieive certain sales target, get 1% of monthly sales, 2%, 3%, 4% And finally 5% as a bonus. Always told it was to pay a fitter Eg, do sales of 20k @ 2% = £400 extra commission "23k @ 3%=£690 so on until say 30k @5% = £1500 bonus. This made a massive difference to the feel good factor as you can imagine. Now the targets are so high you would have to sell 50 or 60k to achieve 1%. We dont get the targets sent through anymore, so dont have a clue what the target it is. So again the incentive is gone to do a decent job. Suppose the targets are so high to pay for all the company cars/credit cards/ food/drink, etc etc. So as i say what is the point of giving a d**n anymore. 14.68% commission is the pits, time it was reviewed. When is the feed back on higher commission on self - gens coming through..

According to my April to April Hillarys commission sheet Iearned about 27k on sales of approximately 170k. does that mean I should be paid a bonus then ? If so, nice of them to offer.
