OWL I asked the question a few days ago Re Update on this subject but I think Joy was the only one who responded. Is there to be any more conversation on the subject or is it a steamroller job MM

I'm a book at fit. Generally I use the 2 week default SAM gives and up until about a week ago has generally been good, with most product arriving on time. I have had a few calls to say missed van, and a decision was made to either courier up or wait until next van. Advantage for me; saves calling to arrange fits, customer knows well in advance and knows my direct number if they need to change the date, and I let them know if there is a problem at my end, I will call them.
Sometimes I have even reduced the 2 week. i.e. van run on Tues, and Monday appointment, the blinds will need to be on the 2nd next van, so I should be able to fit from the Wed to the Fri, if the customer needs them for the week-end.
However, venetians are the pits atm, don't know what happened as only a few weeks ago they were coming up on the next van.

I also like to book fit at sale. As I do certain postcodes on certain days it makes life a lot easier for me but I add a week to the SAM default date. Only the occassional order is not sent in time for fit and most times I get a call to say its not on van. 90% of these are usually sent by carrier but I have found that the carriers are not as careful of the prducts as my usual driver

The only reason I do not use Sam to book fittings is because I never know what times I have got two weeks from now as I run my business around 2 children, and for instance my son is home sick this week so any fittings pre booked would be useless to me now and would be causing me loads of aggro. Its what works for you really. Thats the trouble with Sam, its inflexible and assumes we all work the same way.
