???Is any other agents receiving vague threats re their agencies IE: A recent conversation with my FSM (Paul S) went something like this; You have to give us more appointment slots as your lead to diary time is too high, you will have to work Bank Holiday Monday if you do not YOU MAY JEOPARDISE YOUR AGENCY IN THE LONG TERM. I don't mind but I do believe myself to be a reasonably conscientious agent who has Hillarys interests at heart, as it is my livelihood. At present I am working 11 hour days on appointments, then I have to do at least another couple of hours on administration.

If i've got the right fsm and I think I have, he is well known for being a ar*ehole .I think if they can't come out with anything constructive apart from threats then they are only pointing out to us all that they are useless, and should be replaced on the next turn of the fsm's magic roundabout. why do you all think tony Boyd left after 25+ years it wasn't because he was happy with the way hillarys are going. My fsm left a message for me about availability 2 weeks ago,on checking my diary of the next few days, one day I had 40 slots filled and another had 38 and half of them were crap. I want a full diary but I also want a life?needless to say he is still waiting for my call (the plonker)

Paul S is one of the best....... (if not THE best)..
I suspect all the FSM's get their instructions from above , and have no choice but to carry them out!!
Anyone else getting pressure to work over the bank holiday?

If we were actually employed by Hillarys instead of just being treated like employees then they would be duty bound to do something about their bullying FSM's. As it is they can make these threats with virtual impunity. It is time they (FSM's and management) realised their tactics are counter productive.

lf he changes your availability up, change it back down. l remember that chap well, had a meeting with him once at my home, cleared the morning of appointments so that he could have his meeting. W**ker never showed up. l phoned him up and told him so. l should have billed him for half a day as l am self employed.

Mottors has said nothing either, I am sure its just a hiccup. Maybe when Mottors gets on line later he can look in to it. Red

Paul was my fsm a while back and I found him to be very straight with it. I would imagine as joy said, he is doing what he has been told to do, maybe reluctantly. He may also be trying to tell you that if the lead time stays as it is or gets worse then another agent will have to be brought in. Its this silly rule of 3.5 days to see a customer. Makes economic sense from their point of view but when it gets quiet again then there is not enough work for the two of you. Hillary's are experiencing a huge upturn in leads at the moment. The leads may be bummers but they are leads non the less. A bit like the macro and other wholesale retailers. Stack em high sell em cheap. Or for Hillary's ..loads of leads, little quality. I am, or so I thought full time and all I have sold this week is 1 conservatory valued at 382 pounds. I am sick of people waving these 3 for 99 leaflets in my face, cheapskates the lot of them. All my diary consists of now are 3 for 99 Er's and not ins or no product of interest. I lay the blame squarely on diary booking for the mess Hillary's are in now. And it is not going to get any better so long as they remain on this path.

as regards availability, just been to measure a conservatory sides only, when the guy said you must be busy its over 3 weeks that I've been waiting since I booked this call.my question is why didn't d/maintenance just give me a call earlier,as I could have most likely have fitted him in somewhere.will they never learn?its called being adaptable and flexible!which i think most advisor's are ,its just that h/o isn't and its about time they were!!!!!!the fault can't just lie with the advisor's.

maybe it's time they binned the 6 slots rule, this has to be causing problems.

I'm in the enviable position of not knowing who my FSM is. With recent changes, I've either got 3, or 0, given my county boundaries.
Tony Boyd was my FSM, so whoever it is has big boots to fill.

Regarding the 6 slot rule. It is the brain child of one person high up according to my FSM. I could tell he wasnt a fan. But obviously he cant say to much.

Firstly! Hillarys were to originally only advertise these silly deals if business was slack!!! We all seem busy so why are they advertising '3 & 4 for' offers when leads are plentiful??? The advertising should be flexible, not 'over-powering' & be the thing responsible for forcing down prices & us out of business!!!! You've got the Advertising 'bunch' at H/O getting huge 'pats on the back' over this but management are forgetting the golden rule of making the best of the quality leads, instead we get leads in favour of 'cheap & cheerful'!!! We can all see by the comments on this site why we are having problems with booking leads ... why can Hillarys? !!!!! Secondly! I'm very surprised to hear that P.S. has lowered himself to such standards ... he can be a total 'tit' sometimes but considering his experience he should know better than to be making such threats! SHAME ON YOU FSM PAUL. S. !!!!!!

maybe it's time they binned the 6 slots rule, this has to be causing problems. I have emailed both my RSM & FSM asking for this to be reviewed. Most are sides only and don't require 6 slots, and is yet another example of lack of co-ordination within the company. We have one group of managers filling our diaries with unnecessary 6 slot leads, and service calls booked in at at peak times. Then we have another group wondering why we have less availability. If only we could find a way of getting them to talk to each other we may get a pro-active, co-ordinated, professionally run company, rather than the dis-jointed, reactive one we currently seem to have.
