Can anyone help? I was having great difficulty fitting a non velux roller and when I explained this to a guy I was on a course with(sorry can't remember name)he told me he had experienced the same problem and that the way round it was to order velux profile as the frame work on the non velux window was actually the same as a velux window(still with me?) Excellent I thought, until I tried to do just that, nobody, and I mean nobody seems to have a clue as how to do it.After three months I have had to arrange for a full refund to the customer. Has anyone else had this problem and do they know how to solve it or am I just lucky!!! p.s It took me six weeks to find someone at HQ who knew how to order me a deluxe sidewinder for a roman blind.

Hi there I fear that fitting our Velux blinds onto a non velux window is a bit if a lottery ,as some windows have the sides at 90 degrees to the glass but the velux profile is approx 83 degrees this causes the roller to "bind"in the channel and you can only cure it by fitting 7 degree shims . Best bet is not to sell for non velux windows!!!

I agree!
Velux windows are fine with the rollers we have for them but I would suggest you sell pleated roof blinds for non-Velux windows.
As already stated the angle of the 'Bevel' on non- standard Velux windows although looking the same differ so that the roller fabrics do not remain in the runners.
The other advantage with pleateds is that if the window is high up you can use the roof blind wand.

If the problem is the same as i had in a new house. I got my hacksaw and cut the back corner/ edge off of each channel at the top this then fits in more snugly and is hidden by the frame across the front. Explained it to customer before and she was happy with finished look. Hope it helps.

My feeling was to stick to pleateds for non velux,so appreciate your comments, looks like we all agree.

I got round this by putting insulation foam strip down bottom edge of sides & then fit profiles. It was just enough to level up & blind works perfectly.
