l see my FSM Richard Head ( D i c k to his friends) has increased my availability without talking to me. What about the promises that they would ask first. No wonder we don't give them the time of day.

No wonder we don't give them the time of day. better than that, mine has asked for more availability, over the bank holiday, whilst he/she goes on holiday !!!!! so i am expected to run around like a blue arsed fly doing the pathetic 3 for 99 offers, cos the new advisors dont work holidays. Just filled up me motor, £50, so the 5 calls all at 3 for 99 might just cover it....what is the bloody point. I could have stayed in bed and saved money !!!!! never mind i will look forward to 4grand conservatory roof i have to measure next week................ Cant have everything can we

Ditto. Noticed availability increased on Monday. Tues received e-mail from FSM, asking to increase Mondays available for bank holiday. Well I have never taken a bank holiday off, usually working them as Scotlands BHs are different from England and Wales, but I certainly not working any more hours. E-mailed FSM who replied saying sorted, but she will check on Fri when in the office. Checked tonight, Mondays are still increased, not just the BH, but the next 3 Mondays and possible more. So e-mailed her again tonight. Is that conservatory roof order a figment of your imagination, or do you have a lead and hoping for a 4k order.

Its an order !! for roof in 25mm cos he doesn't like the 20mm system. And tab blinds for sides. now he has stressed if they are not fitted perfectly, and looks the dogs bollocks, he will not pay!!! i have shown him photos of roofs i have done, hillarys pictures etc etc, Shown him all my display models. But... i still get the feeling he isn't 100% with it all. So am i in for a load of grief ?

Farmer!
You need to decide whether He is all 'Hot air' as many customers do moan like mad & make a lot of fuss but end up being the most delighted!!!
OR
As he has threatened to not pay if he's not happy could mean he has no intension of paying or you'll be back time after time with service calls.
Based purely on the 'tone' of your posting ... I'd consider walking away!!!!!
I'd also tell the customer why I'm walking too!!!!!!

This sentence made me laugh when my esteemed FSM sent me the standard increased availability email the other day.
"Please be assured that this decision was not made lightly and has been taken with the best interest of your business, your customers and Hillarys."
Shouldnt it read:
Please be assured that this decision was made lightly and has been taken with the best interest of Hillarys. So get off your lazy asses and flog some blinds for £99. After all the more you fools sell, the more I make extra for doing naff all.

Dear advisor
It’s great news - our current advertising and promotional activity has generated 30% more leads than the same week last year. This shows the season is picking up as more people are turning to thoughts of home improvements. However, this increase in demand has fallen over the bank holiday period – a time when your availability has been reduced by 20%.
With record lead levels and less diary time to fulfil them it is likely that the average time a customer has to wait for an appointment will exceed seven days. Experience shows that when this happens there are a higher number of cancellations or ‘not ins’ – reducing your conversion rate and lead effect performance.
Therefore, I have temporarily changed your availability to increase the number of appointments you offer within any 3-hour period. For example, if you would normally offer 3 appointments within 3-hours, you will now have 4 appointment slots instead. If you only offer one or two appointment slots in a 3-hour period the number of appointment slots cannot automatically be increased, if you are able to make an increase to the number of slots you allocate to a three-hour period then please contact me.
These changes to your availability will be made by Friday the 28th of April.
Please be assured that this decision was not made lightly and has been taken with the best interest of your business, your customers and Hillarys.
As you know your availability has already been removed from your diary on Bank Holiday Monday. However, bearing in mind the number of leads available, if you are willing to work on Monday and add availability to your diary, please let me know as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or are concerned about any of these temporary changes to your availability, then please contact me directly rather than diary maintenance.

Para 1 - Last year we didn't have these silly 3 4 99 offers. It may be increasing the leads, but the value orders have gone. What is the AOV now compared with last year. And my availability hasn't reduced by 20%, I'm working on the bank holiday.
Para 2 - I currently still have availability in my diary.
Para 3 - This was not to happen again, according to Hillarys. So more open and honest communications.
Para 5 - This is not in our interest. Who wants to do 4 hours of appointments in a three hour slot. Now I must look up the working hours directive. It must mention this euro time system.
Para 6 - Not done in my case; availability as normal.
Para 7 - I have been e-mailing FSM all week re an increase in my Monday evenings. Fixed says she. Well this letter if actioned will add yet another appointment slot giving me two appointment slots to remove.
We are self employed aren't we; we decide our working hours ....?

MY SPECIFIC AVAILABILITY WAS AGREED 4 WEEKS AGO WITH MY TIT OF AN FSM, AND THE REASONS WHY I SPECIFICALLY WANTED TIME OFF ON BANK HOLIDAY SAT AND MONDAY. SO WITHOUT ASKING I HAVE HAD 5 APPOINTMENTS PUT IN FOR SAT AND NINE, YES BLOODY NINE FOR MONDAY. WELL I AM GOING TO BE 150 MILES AWAY AS ALEADY ADVISED TO FSM RING FSM UP AND ASK WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING, AND REMIND FSM OF AGREEMENT FOR THIS WEEKEND
AM TOLD THAT DUE TO FLOOD OF LEADS AN EXECUTUIVE DECISON WAS TAKEN TO INCREASE MY SLOTS AND GET THE APPOINTMENTS DONE AS IN DANGER OF GOING TO 5 DAYS WAIT. " i AM AFRAID THERE IS NO LATITUDE"

I'm really surprised to hear that your FSM has changed your availabilty to such an extent without your permission. This certainly isn't what they have been instructed to do and I find it hard to accept.
To my knowledge all bankholiday availability has been removed on mass and so it really is a mystery as to how this could of happened. Not all changes to availabilty is due to your FSM. Due to system memory limitations diaries are rebuilt every few months using your base diary that is held in diary maintenance. This may be the cause, but I really would like to investigate this situation further as it is clearly unacceptable both to you and your customers.
To allow me to do this please call me tomorrow on 07770 646894.
