I've heard many advisors say they use 5" face fix instead of UEBs and that gives enough clearance for handles with 3.5" louvres. I've found when I measure that most handles protrude 1 to 1.5cm more than the clearance the 5" brackets give you so I still use UEBs (sooner not).
I'm I wrong, what do you use ??
Considering the number of conservatories we do it would be nice to have brackets available for Romans, Venetians, f/h Pleats and Verticals (if I'm correct re 5" bkts) that are designed to clear handles with out attaching to UEBs. Neat job and quicker fit time. What you think ?

Yep, agree with doggy always use 5"brackets and 3 1/2" Louvre's and always say to customer they will just clear/touch but this is a neater Finnish etc. Always use ueb's for Venetians and with romans I try to fit to facia along top of windows because normally this brings them out a little bit but warn cust. that when raising blinds (roman) you may have to lift forward to stop them catching handle. I always show cust. at fit what to do and crack a joke that if they do catch and you break cord locks it will cost you £5 plus per catch to re-fit Guess what cust. will do what you say when money is concerned ;D Hope this helps Glen

Just fitted two verticals along one wall of a conservatory , one left hand and one right hand, customer is not happy with the lack of overlap. These are delta 6 rails . I have removed the plastic spacer and cut off the inner end of the cord idler pulley and they still only just meet. Customer wants the overlap to be the same as the other louvres. Only other option seems to be removing the floating rod support. Any suggestions?

5" for 3 1/2" verts, clears windows but sometimes will brush against the door handles. This is OK if you tell the customer that at the time of sale.
