It is a topic that was raised at the rollers/romans forum that took place last Friday. Does anyone have news of that meeting? I've never sold a dim out Roman either..... not very atttractive are they!

Didn't get a sale on Friday, as customer wanted a b/o lining. She is now "looking around'. Come on Hillarys, another simple to achieve improvement, that will increase sales oportunities. Nip down to the local market and buy a few metres of b/o lining, should only cost a few quid, and you can get back at least twice what you paid.

black out romans will be available from the new launch in september. i was at the forum and this was one of the many positives to come out. not quite as straightforward to get 'backout' standards on romans as you would think, but they have a solution now!
i will post further details of the forum when i've more time!

I was also one of the Advisors at the roller and roman forum last week, which was very constructive and should result, long term, in significant changes.
I have tended not to post on this site as I'm totally fed up with all the negative remarks, however, having recently met John Risman, Sarah Quilliam, Judy and Yvonne the two vertical, roller and roman product managers, as well as Rose Haines, Simon Dalby and Ross Kenney and other senior management, I genuinely belive that Hillarys is in very safe hands.
Introducing a new product i.e. blackout romans is not simply a case of sewing in a blackout lining. Sewing creates a line of holes, therefore it is no longer a blackout blind and if they were to be made that way they would immediately be DoR'd.
Production is currently finalising a way of producing a genuine blackout roman, they are also currently testing a whole new range of superb fabrics that will vastly improve the already excellent range. However, it doesn't happen overnight, but should be ready for the new roman launch later this year.
In addition, much discussion took place about the future roller collection and make no mistake about it, the eight Advisors that attended - all lost a day's work and offered their advice with remuneration - were very straight about what they consider is required and improved upon. I think it's fair to say that the ladies were somewhat surprised that the opinion of the Advisors did not always match theirs. Straight talking was the theme, and if folks don't think that changes are being planned, then they are wrong. There are Advisors prepared, in a quiet and constructive manner, to progress the company wherever they can.
Inevitably it won't be right all of the time, but I look back on how much development has occured in the 11 years I've been a full time Advisor and it is considerable.
Within seconds of this appearing, somebody will post a negative remark about buttering up to the management. That's your perogative, I'm have my own concerns about some aspects, frequently ones very different to those complained about on this forum. However, I'm also prepared to put time and effort in to improve things. If I'm asked to attend another forum, then I shall, equally, if it's someone else's turn, then so be it.

Somehow my last post has hiccupped in the ether. The 10.10pm one is correct if you can spot the difference!
