Something came up today...... Caused me to ring Hillarys, and get someone to dig out my Contract... I cannot find a copy of mine anywhere.. They were very good in that Dept anyway(!) and rang me back, ( in a flap!!!) I , it appears do not have a Contract which is valid. I was hired as a "Wholesale Blinds" Agent many years ago and signed a contract with Wholesale Blinds Ltd, and when that was wound up about 2.5 years ago, my Agency was forced to have a name and number change. BUT no one ever sent me a Contract between my new agency and Hillarys Blinds Ltd.... ?? Is anyone else in the same boat, because if we are then we may have a case regarding the pillaged commissions etc etc etc...... OOoops??!!! Bear

Funny how they had same Fabrics as Hillarys. inkjet albany and wholesale wernt taken over by hillarys they were the downmarket side of hillarys many new advisors were put onto them so if things were not up to scratch the hillarys name wasnt tarnished as to this forum being to complicated ::)how many members do you have on your little site about 3 i think so no wonder its easy on there admit it the other site is dead

Russell,
told me to go back to other site thinking I was asubversive from a rival Hillarys site, when I said I find this Forum hard to followas there are toomany sub sections in my opinion.
And if you click on to Last 50 posts you jump from topic to topic.
but regretably he got it wrong
.
The site I Moderate has 8000 members. Nothing to do with blinds.
We usually have 90 diffrent topics being discussed a day. In total we have had over 5000 topics with over 500000 replies. I would be interested to know where this rival site was.
He then told me Albany was part of Hillarys and was there to stop newAgents getting established Agents a bad name.
I felt Albany was the upmarket brand but i was wrong.
I was only joking about take over.
But its was all the brand confusion and changes in policy that has clouded my opinion over the years of a comany that has not got its act together
Of course I knew Wholesale and Albany were not taken over by Hillarys
However it was confusing when you went on a leadThe Agent thought they were Albany, and the Customer thought they had called Hillarys. The Leads dept did not advise you which company had been called.
I was encoutaged to spend £100 on a seperate line.
Used to divert to mobile.
Told to divert to Head Office. It appears they did not know lcall was diverted from your number or did not care.
Told to Spend £150 on a Fax You must do it.
Oh we are going to use 0800 numbers from now on no need for extraline But Ive only had it for six months paid £100 to have it installed and I am commited to a years rental Tough cookies this is what we are doing
Oh You are no longer Albany.
You are Hillarys
When we did have the Three Brands you used to go round half an hour after The Hillary Agent and use beat a qoute.
Russell,You are obviously A Hillarys man and very good.
What role did you have at Head Office for two years

The point of Hillarys, Wholesale & Albany being set up was because that if a customer did not buy & wanted another quote they would ring up one of the others & so the company still got the business. This did have a few problems in that some Advisors would say they would under-cut the other buy £10. You have customers phoning each of them back time & again getting the price down. It was at a time when there was little competition & nearly all the business came in via the 'local rags' & the A4 'fly sheets'.
We all had the same fabrics & the same price lists & attended all the same meetings.

Quite right Russell.
Guess Im in a minority.
Now the question is
Is my contract vailid.
The answer is probably yes as we did nothing about it when the change happened so we acepted it as Custom and Practice. The same applies to change of title from Sales Agent to Advisor.

exactly if you work the new way the contract becomes valid if however you work the old way and refuse to sign a new contract the old contract stays valid that sounds complicated but i know what i mean i think

The point is, us former Wholesale and Albany agents are now Hillary Agents and most of us have no Contract with Hillarys.
Where exactly does that leave us if they try to enforce something"Thats in your Contract"
My answer is " Go on, punk, feel lucky, make my day show me my Contract"
How many of us are asked to sign new ones at the next Area Boring Meeting, shows how mant HO twits read this site???
I will not be signing, period.

I asked my union rep in my daytime job about not signing or even having contracts of employments and he said by continuing to work after any changes are made infers acceptance of new conditions
