We have all been trained to quote a delivery time of four weeks for Awnings, but they are currently having difficulty completing in six weeks so be careful when indicating delivery time to customers. Better to be honest and quote six weeks - if the Awnings turn up earlier then that's a bonus.
Also, I was surprised to find that there is no effective tracking system for Awnings orders. If you try to chase an Awning you get no response, because the information isn't made available. Mick Pollitt is working on this to try to get a system in place but in the meantime its plain anarchy - your quote four weeks, you try to chase when its overdue, and nobody can tell you anything.
Shame, because they are a nice product, they seem to be priced competitively and are selling well, but the service back-up is missing. So be aware.

I heve been contacted a few times by the chap responsible for our awning installations based in Birmingham I think. His name is Brian and seems a nice lad. Telephone number is 0121 525 6417.
Good to chat to if you are unsure of fixing positions etc.

Can anyone help with information on Awning queries. I have 2 sales in the bag, but fitting issues are not clear. ie can they fit. I have emailed photos to the service centre and have been told they will be passed on to Specialist products, but no reply. Customer also needs a price for the old unit to be removed.

Hi Libra,
I think it's best to contact Mike at HQ first then try the supplier on number above.
One thing I do when looking at a job, is to try and think like a fitter and see how you would fit it.
If you are unclear then your manager should re-send you notes on the speclialist training.
Nice to see your first post reflecting exactly why the forum is here -- to help people !
