Have a good day all! Karen Going through the FSM is nothing new, it came out over 2 years ago, and at that time DM wouldn't change anything without FSM approval. Since then, common sense has prevailed at ground level. This also seems to be happening with the new service call payments. I had a discussion with a girl in service support this week, who, with her team leader, is interpreting the criteria very differently, and in our favour, to the original guidelines. Things like going to other advisors call, originally we were getting a flat £20 regardless of number of visits, is now being paid as £20 for call, plus £15 if DOR raised. Also, a 2nd DOR can now be a different blind at the different time, whereas originally it had to be the same blind. This is very much the way of the world in big companies. The managers, who want to make a name for themselves (and we all know who), stamp their feet, lay down the law according their greatness, then move on to the next thing that will make them look important. In the meantime, those who have to work the system, quietly apply common sense and fairness, to make it work.

Having just done the posting about service call payments, a thought occurred to me.
Should I have posted this, showing that things are getting better and there are some good people at Hillarys who do want to work with us.
OR
Should I have kept quiet, in case "thingy Turpin" sees it and stops it
Could this be why we all moan but are frightened to talk about the good things, for fear they'll be removed?

We all have to adapt the system to suit our needs and common sense does prevail eventually, but as you get one stupid decision sorted out some bright spark out to make his/her name comes along with yet another ingenious plan to rule the world and so the never ending process of battling against the crazy, ill thought out decisions continues. Trouble is, theres too many of them to cope with all at once, you no sooner adapt one thing to run smoothly than another 2 changes come along. I have been with Hillary's for around 10 years now and like a lot of you have seen lots of changes. Some good, some bad and some totally stupid. Remember the stick on braid on rollers?. I am not adverse to change, I am not a dinosaur, I am not naive enough to think that changes will not happen. They have to, but Hillary's should listen to the advisor's more. This 3 for 99 offer is killing us. What the motive behind it is, only they know that. No problem with it in January to March but not now. August to Xmas is prime selling time and the odds are stacked against us getting quality sales. If the plan is to try to kill off competition, then I am afraid it is not working, at least not in my area. There are more selling cheap offers now than ever before. My suspicion is that they have a shed load of fabrics that have never sold and are using the adviser base to clear it out and make the books look stronger than they actually are. Only my thoughts on this, I may be well off the mark but don't think so. Red
