I can not for the life of me work out why people are talking badly about the quarterly meetings. I know sometimes it is not that relevant for us out in the field, but these meetings were brought about at the request of advisor's in the first place. So as to be better informed and be able to meet other advisor's in the area. It seems pointless degrading something that advisor's wanted and asked for. Red Red You miss the point. Originally it was asked for by Agents BUT HIllarys have hijacked it and turned it into a "Aint we great --aint we the greatest !!!--Masturbationfest"" Its obscene frankly. Never Again

i agree meetings are a great way of exchanging ideas i think what people are trying to say though red is its one way traffic Yes I know but if it were conducted the way some advisor's want it to be it would become a free for all slanging match. The point is, we did ask for them and lets face it, it can not be very easy coming up with things for these meetings except to relay to us where Hillary's want to go in the future and facts and figures. What should really happen is that time is set aside to air problems at the end, but this wont happen as FSMs can not cope with a bombardment of negative feedback. But put any one in that position and it could be rather intimidating. Red

The main frustration seems to keep popping up time and time again the bad reputation and rap-or the fsms have with advisor's .
If you attend your quarterly meeting with a positive attitude where if the FMs does not do a true and honest job of helping the group then we all should find the common sense and courage to write a report on them and complain that if they demand we all attend these meeting then we demand this person does a reasonable job for us and Hillary's . You have camera phones tape him . They want professional advisor's . But take on new advisor's with very little help and keep them in dark for as long as possible. This is simply done by keeping long time advisor's in fear of losing leads , bonus , or area post codes. (Hungry dogs will do exactly what you want them too.)
The answer is attend the meetings face the problems together inform one another and be fair and demand fairness . Move on to those above them ,who may not know the true picture . BUT IT MAY BE THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SETTING THE TASK. Could i ask if anyone as a current adviser contract for us all to see would you please they show it on here.

I have to agree with Motters about the Team Meetings ! But.... if there is some thing worthy of a presentation ( New Commission Structure ? New Product Launch ) then attendance might be worth while ! Love to see us all wearing 'advisor on line ' pin badges at such a meeting - that would instill a good way of putting US on the adgenda ! Any one out there with Badge Contacts ? I'm affraid I have to agree. The meetings are no longer 'meetings' instead a presentation with a school like routine asking us to name four ways of this or four ways of that. Playing with figures like einstein so it looks like HQ were right all along !!! I for one, would be mch happier having this presentation sent to me either by post or email so we can get on with earning the money. They have already cut back the evening meets so they don't have to payout for a bar bill or any food. Why not cut out the meetings all together and save on the cost of the room aswell !!! P.

Why don't we paint over the Enamel badges that have the Hillarys logo on?
I can hear my FSM now!!!!! .... "If you insist on wearing that badge then I'll have to consider your future with the company!!!"

thankyou to all emails ive had about advertising we seem to all be having the same problems eg not knowing what adverts we are supposed to be having what leaflets and where what responses we are getting if any and nearly all agree it was better when ourselves and the fsm controled advertising also the subject that is closest to peoples hearts is previous customers being farmed out to the first available agent for the sake of number crunching ie 4day lead to diary its good to hear we all are not "the only one " but sad our input is not sought and our business in the hands of others that maybe lack the local insight we have

We have been a husband/wife agency for 5+ years now and we have only ever missed 1 advisor quarterly meeting to date (due to just returning from holiday at the time). We note that our next meeting is due to be held 2pm - 5pm apparently due to lack of attendance at previous evening meetings. Obviously this is another cut-back on expenditure by Hillarys without taking into consideration that we will lose half a days appointments! Do they ask the advisor first? No! Hillarys obviously realise that an afternoon meeting will cut out having to provide a buffet and drinks for all attending and the fsm won't have to give up his evening! It will be interesting to see how many advisors actually attend!

We rang round and got a good majority, and Hillarys changed the meeting to 7pm/9pm. Dont let the b****rs grind you down!!! If they want daytime meetings THAT ARE WORTH IT then pay us £20 an hour for our time.... Check round your local Agents Bet you get a majority wnting evenings..
