Any one else been having problems with romans lately?
I've got 3 jobs totaling around £3.5k going down the drain.
Job 1 6 blinds, £1200. Fitted all 6 3 times. One large blind none of the vertical or horizontal seams straight on any of the 3 supplied. Other 5 in bay, ordered "same room option", I couldn't match any 5 from 15. Set 1 totally different shade to sets 2 & 3. Set 3 all shorter than sets 1 & 2 Customer given full refund before balance paid. Job 2 9 blinds in conservatory. £2,000 incl. 3 wood ven. All ordered same room option, none match, all different lengths, none hang straight, all creased. Husband paid balance, wife came home and described them as dishcloths, absolute disgrace. Now asking for refund. Job 3 2 small blinds £200. In recess either side of door. Really nice lady, done work for her and several members of family for years. Can't believe how bad these are compared to others. Sides of blinds so uneven it touches frame in parts and has 10mm gaps elsewhere. Now asking for refund.
The common features are: same room option seams don't line up same room option lengths vary blind width varies by up to 15mm seams not straight centre panel joins not straight creased

l have just done 4 Romans, 3 of which are in a bay and all 3 had "same room option".
Narrower left and large centre blind match up nicely. Narrower right blind and the seams are 25mm adrift. Spoke to Service centre this morning and they did not want to do a DOR until l had spoken to materials department (Romans) on Monday!
Options are .....
Dor the one blind and hope it matches the other two. Dor all 3 blinds with same room option. Send one of the blinds back to get them to match it to the replacement blind. ( and hope they do not misplace or damage the blind l send back)
So now l have to wait to see if they can decide what to do.

What a joke unfortunately whatever you do will cost you in the long run I would dor them all and start again at least you should get 3 to match

I hope not!! I've just sold 9 romans in a conservatory for £2000. Have put same room option and also keyed "all in same window" on manufacturing special instructions box on SAM.
Due to install on 4th December so will keep you informed!
Any more news on this 4 for £99. The last posting made it sound like it was only going to be in areas currently advertising 3 for £99.

Romans have always suffered from being too creased! They said... "anyone involved with fitting soft furnishings should have a portable steam iron". What about anyone involved in the manufacturing of soft furnishings going to spec savers! The horizontal stitching now often looks like its done after a few pints at lunch, in other words slightly pi**ed! Well I say, what happened to us expecting to receive a blind made with due care and attention, which is fit for purpose and "exceeds" customer expectations, made by people who take pride in their work Alot of blinds are good, but more and more are not meeting the standards expected by us or the customer. The " at home" mag paints a certain picture, the high price tag raises expectations of quality. The sad reality of things is........well we all know the answer to that one.

The common features are: same room option seams don't line up same room option lengths vary blind width varies by up to 15mm seams not straight centre panel joins not straight creased Having asked this question, I fitted 4 today and they're spot on, seams straight, edges straight, same length, no creasing. So we can make them properly sometimes - why not always?
