Hi When will this company realise a 48hours appointment is not needed How many time as a customer said, I only rung yesterday are you not busy, or I got other people coming to give me a price next week, which give the impression there are busier than us, I have also had customers say the time offered was the only time available , basically take it or leave it, and how many time have you been to a 6-9 appointment and found out the customer been there all day but was only offered the 6-9 appointment and your diary had empty slots to use, and where are all these extra leads going , I was open for 10 leads today but only have 4 leads booked ,spread out between 9am-9pm,do you think there trying to tell me something .

Agree with you about timescale and evening appointments. I've been in sales and marketing for 20 years and it's always been said to make sure you are last in because a) you can really close as they have not a real excuse that they are having another quote and b) if they are considering the other quote then you can beat it by discussing quality/price/speed or whatever. Regarding unnecessary evening appointments, I have to go back to one from the other day as want to see in daylight. I questioned why they didn't request a daytime appointment, they were told none available. That was interesting because I was sitting on me bum in the afternoon with nothing to do then had to go and see them leaving my family in the evening

Just like you Blindwizard, I too have been in this type of business for 20+ years ( 27 in fact ) & I have ALWAYS noticed that evening & weekend calls in a business like this with relatively small order values is not neccessary. And to book up 'Prime times' with such a 'Cavalier' attitude is stupid. If you monitor your conversions closely will probably find as I do that 'Prime time' bookings produce lower conversions & lower sales. Educate the customer to accept daytime appointments ( which they will accept! ) & offer evening & weekend calls only as a 'Final' option & see the business grow. Add to this the longer wait time to a sales call to allow other companies in to quote first will help us. Most companies go in & 'quote' only, giving us the chance to 'Ask' for the order & to 'deal' if required.
