Many thanks to Red and to Joy for your very positive and supportive messages today. We were expecting some flak for not have immediate solutions to all of your problems, and for having to keep the details to ourselves at least until after Leeds, so its reassuring to know that you are behind us (though I still await postings from Bear and Nonails with some trepidation).
Certainly I came away convinced that most of the problems between the company and its advisors are due to communications rather than closed minds - specifically communications from us to them - and maybe whilst we wait for other outcomes we could turn our minds to how suitable channels can be established. I have a few ideas but let me take a back seat for once and see what the rest of you suggest first.
In the meantime if anybody wants to see the dossier that Advisor Online presented to the forum please just PM me your direct email address - its a 200kb Word document which is too big to add as an attachment through the forum.
Thanks again, everybody.
Mike

I don't even know whether she monitors our forum but I would like to apologise openly to Jenny for not mentioning her as a memeber of the company team at the seminars.
Jenny is a Marketing Executive and, amongst other thiings, is responsible for the weekly mailer to advisors. Her role at the seminar was primarily to taken notes on which I am sure she will now be working hard to make some sense of our wide ranging discussions. Thanks, Jenny.

Well done team! Many thanks for everything you have done ( so far!!!). It is encouraging to note by your comments that those representing Hillarys H/O were so open to discussion. Well done & thank you to them too!!!! I would be interested to know what was the reaction of those Advisers that had not heard of this site? What was the look on their faces when they learned of it? Is it safe to change my 'Newsflash' now.... !!!!

reference the minutes of the meetings which she has taken and will take at the northern meeting are these going to be published and the outcome of issues raised be published by Hillary's? Is there a time scale set for this or is it in the hands of h/o and what form will it take email or printed .I ask this because if its say one week after the second meeting it will give us all a set date to watch the post and we will all know the outcome at the same time and it will be official (nobody getting confused). I wish to take this time to thank everyone who is trying to improve not only my business with Hillary's but also hillarys with me/us and its good to know i'm not alone out here.

Grumperbear and Greenpesto - thanks for your comments also. I'm not going to acknowledge every such message but thanks to you all for your support and your faith.
GP - yes, please do change your news flash - I don't think we're looking for new jobs yet and I'm sure you can come up with another pithy comment. Could I also be so bold as to request that, as we seem to entering a more positive phase, we give the company the benefit of the doubt and drop the references to 'Sillarys' on this forum - it was funny at first but has worn a bit then and is becoming counter productive.
As to the reactions of the previously 'non-forum' delegates to the seminar - just take a look at how many have registered for the first time last night and today. I suspect that they have now joined us, at least to take a look, and membership should pass the 400 mark before the Leeds meeting.

Keenasmustard - sorry, can't answer that question at the moment, mainly because we didn't think to ask, but the notes taken by Jenny were for management consumption rather than formal minutes. However, I have no doubt that we will get feedback after Leeds, probably quickly and informally on anything that is do-able and non contentious, followed by more considered responses on the bigger issues. Have no fear - we do not intend to lose the initiative and will be following through.

At the risk of playing the"devils advocate" can i say that although i truly appreciate the time and effort put in by the select few perhaps we should delay the backslapping and aren't Hillarys wonderful type comments until we see positive improvements to our working lives, and as for taking little digs at Sillarys, isn't the internet all about freedom of speech

My thanks to all and sundry for apparently good progress in Reading. I will have to tone down my postings if this season of goodwill continues......B****r !!!!!! Can I ask if there was any response as to why Hillarys have not "advertised this forum" on weekly newsletters, seeing as Melissa never "followed through" Now the word is out how can they NOT stick a few lines in the weekly ? Grapes of the sour variety?? Thanks again Nonails

Sorry, Russell - quite correct, you did arrive first but when I arrived you had gone to find your room so we didn't tie up until later. Is it important ?
In response to another message, we did push again for the forum to be advertised to other advisors - no promises were made at the meeting but fingers are crossed for some action this time, and I will follow it up with Jenny, who does the mailers.

Hi Mike, Just a quick thank you to you and the other advisors taking up the coarse on our behalf. One small point I would like to make ref your comment on difficult communication from 'us' to 'them'don't you think most of us have tried to communicate our dissatisfaction to our fsm's only to be told 'you're self employed, you've made your bed now lie on it'. Don't get me wrong this is no put down of you or our representatives and as for me I have a good rappor with my fsm. Again well done everyone. Cherokee.

hello all sorry i didnt post last night but meetings motorways ferries wife and kids kept me busy firstly i had a very productive few days meeting rossk rose rudie ,jenny, tonyb and of course the other members of the forum myself pete and mike were the 3 most active forum members there (as in posts ) and i believe only 1 other was a member of this forum that aside we all had the same goal and basicaly same ideas so with the forums 100plus active members comments ,and our 11 we had a good grounding of feelings within the business at this point i cant say to much as it would be unfair to prempt the leeds meeting and hillarys h\o need time to look at our points things cant and wont change overnight but i did get the impression that things will get better some in the short term the so called easy fixes and some in the long personaly i believe we all want to pull in the same direction and having the wealth of experiance from advisors and h\o made for a very good two way debate i now am much clearer on reasons certain things have happened . i would advise any one of you that gets the opportunity of attending possible future meetings to go and have your say and listen to the other side also thankyou for all the input via phone and email i have had ,my phone was hot today makes a change ;D i am far happier now than a few days ago and can see with both side co operation us all moving forward within a better enviroment and i thank those that offered the opportunity for the forums i have not been brainwashed or replaced with a clone and still have a few frusterations but have worked with some caring people in the last few days so am quietly confident i think after the leeds meeting most of you will be happy with the future possibilities for us all

May I add my thanks to all concerned for their hard work and time. Sounds a very positive meeting and hopefully positive outcomes will follow that benefit both the Advisors and Hillarys the company.
A couple of points:-
1. There is talk about feedback from meeting and also this forum being advertised. It's interesting to consider that if you didn't know about this forum and you weren't invited to these meetings that you wouldn't even be aware that these meetings are happening !!
2. Now that the initiative has been started of Hillarys and Advisors talking should we be pushing for more structured Advisor representation and regular meetings ? Should there be an Advisor Representative for each FSM Area who meet with Management to present/discuss Advisors views ?

good point who knows the forums may have happened before the power of this forum gets better i think after conversations i have had with h\o more forums are a cert as to reps in each area i dont know we all had the similer moans but differant cures and outlooks i was glad i went to put the forum point over but also my own as in the end we all have differant needs if we pick the wrong person it could be a one man show i think the random format is good i would love to be involved again but theres 800 views out there
