Hi I only joined today but as I read through the posts I realize that the majority of advisor's are not happy, I was lead to believe it was only me and I started getting paranoid, thinking I was turning into Victor Meldrew. Now I know I am not the only adviser that is unhappy with the way Hillary's are trying to take away our individuality and turn us into sheep. They had a great company not so long ago that was on the up year after year. They are like a floundering ship now that has no direction cos someone stole the steering wheel and now they cant fix it. Why take a perfectly good engine out of a Rolls Royce and put a clock work one in its place and call it progress. Lets face it, us advisor's are a moaning lot arnt we, but hold up. If so many are moaning about so many different issues then there must be something fundamentally wrong. isn't there? Oh never mind, it will go away. Cos thats the Hillary's way. RED

Is everybody else getting threats of No leads if they don't conform? If you don't work Eves & w/ends you won't get leads ... If you don't have SAM you won't get leads ..... if you don't do .... Oh 'shut up' will you please!!!! Is it that my FSM is just another blundering idiot with no concept of how to deal with people. FSM's seem to to get worse every time we have a change around. My latest one is a right ****head!

I really don't think we can blame the fsms for things the way they are. They are as much a Muppet in this Muppet theater of Hillary's as we are. Someone high up and out of touch is pulling all our strings. They will be told what to tell us and never to be negative even if they feel like telling us the truth. Everything is fine and you are the only one with a problem, DOR,s are negligible and Diarrhea booking works fine. 3 for 99 ghetto blinds are brilliant etc, etc. Now we have this notice board the truth is coming out and we are not on our own anymore. Dont be surprised if they try to shut it down instead of working with us to resolve all the issues coming up, and if they do try to close it down you will then know the real face of Hillarys. Sure there are a lot of good positive things that Hillary do and a lot of good people that work for Hillarys both agents and staff, but they do need to start listening to us if they want the business to grow and not just a select few yes, agents, all of us, new and old advisers alike. Come on Hillarys management acknowledge this notice board give us your input and start to work with us. The advisers you have seem to be more passionate about Hillarys succeeding than you are so LISTEN to us and build with us. Red

if they shut us down we could do the same too them 8oo advisors all off the same week mmmm think about that What you are suggesting is, lets be blunt, a weeks strike. It would never work getting 800 plus advisor's to take a week of, you would need longer than a week and then they would just get new advisor's. Now, a weeks sick epidemic every now and then, well thats another story. But no, diplomacy has to be used and talk. Not the usual one sided talk where you sit and listen to your fsm but a two sided talk where we are heard and action is taken to resolve the issues. It has only taken 3 years for Hillary's to get to this point (Tony Hillary left then) where most advisers are dissatisfied. Lets hope in 2 to three years the board is full of more positive feedback. I agree with Red. All taking a week off is just escalating the problem. I believe this website was set up to give us a voice, and I think there is going to be some form of advisor representation at a forum of some kind at Nottingham. Is that right Motters?
We need to make our views known, but be realistic, there is a big downturn in retail spending, and whether we like it or not, we're part of it. How many big name companies can you quickly think of that have gone in the last 12 months?
I think the real problem is Hillarys have come up with 1 idea, and staked the future of company, and us, on that single thought - 3/£99. Now obviously, the current senior management team aren't clever enough to come up with 2 ideas, so instead of repeating the same old moans (and that includes me) why don't we think of some ideas ourselves to put forward. We won't get rid of the £99 offers until we can find something better.
These offers started in September in Hampshire, and since then I've seen my average order value drop every month, from £407 to £299. My earnings this month will be 40% down on last November. I don't like it one little bit, and I don't like the type of home I'm now visiting! We all know our market, probably better than many at Nottingham, so what do we want Hillarys to do to weather what's really a recession but Gordon Brown won't admit it.
How about ...
3 for 2 - Any 3 blinds, including % discounts but not "2 for's", get lowest cost blind free. Even in a conservatory, 50% table 7's are so much dearer than £279/2 that giving every 3rd blind free would probably slightly increase order value and widen customers choice
progressive discounts. Instead of blanket 10%, 5% for existing customers on any value, for all new customers, say nothing extra up to £500, 10% £500-£1000, 15% over £1000. I'm more interested in order value than unit value and this might help us sell up.

Lot of sense in what you write--grey vanman...
I agree that my order value is 40% down, as are earnings.
I TOO do not like going to streets where I have to watch my van..and there is more glass in the road than there is in the windows.
Value per lead is shot to hell with the 3 for 99 and your progressive deals are worth discussing.
One for Melissa face-to-face I reckon
Nonails
Third one free works too....
ANYTHING to get away from a week that has been my worst for years--and more leads than I ever had..
I have found whole areas I never knew existed and trodden in more dog-logs than an eskimo sleigh driver!!

What a refreshing viewpoint. We all get upset sometimes, but a little bit of positivity and offering of alternative solutions is always better to read. I would love to see more ideas on here, some of them are blinders (oh bugger that was an unintentional really bad pun) and I would imagine that out of all the comments, those containing suggestions on how to solve your problem will be the most appreciated ones at HQ.
Like the man said 'we need to work together'.
Good luck.

I understood that Tony was still on the Board as he has shares in the company. I think however he has little influence on policies. So don't hold your breath.

At long last, we're strarting to see some realistic, positive comments. A week ago, I wrote the comments below, and still stand by them. It seems it took the threat of some form of strong protest to get people motivated postively. Now lets have some ideas. I agree with Red. All taking a week off is just escalating the problem.
