SENT IN TO ADVISOR FEEDBACK Hillarys preferred payment method is by card. When transacted through SAM it's quicker, cheaper, improves cash flow, and eliminates lost payments. It's obviously very important as it forms part of the SMR report. Although I always ask for this, some people still insist on cheques and cash. There's not much I can do about cheques, but myself and many of my colleagues find it quicker and easier to transact cash payments through a personal credit/debit card than taking to the bank. As well as being Hillarys preferred method, it's also quicker and easier for us as well. One of my colleagues has had a recent run in with credit control, and was told it's not an acceptable method of payment as it's against company procedure, and that if their card number is seen again, payment will be refused. I discussed this with Tony Boyd before I started doing it, he agreed with the advantages but felt it could be open to abuse. Personally, I can't see how this is more open to abuse than banking cash, and if an advisor is that way inclined, they'll rob Hillarys whatever payment method is used. So I can see no real reason why this shouldn't be acceptable - it's a WIN-WIN situation. It's to our advantage and Hillarys, so could we please get the procedure changed so this is acceptable? Also, I assume any invoice paid by card through SAM doesn't really need to go through credit control, just archiving or whatever else you do with it. If we separated these and sent them via the vans, it would reduce admin costs at Hillarys and allow credit control to concentrate on invoices that require payment. It would reduce our postage costs, so acting as an additional incentive to use SAM. I would not be prepared to sort and post these separately as it would just increase my work load and costs with no benefit to myself. I have to say I admire your courage mate, I bet you don't get a clear answer, or you'll get a fudge. Or maybe the sack for dreaming up such a sensible response . I will lay £5 that you will be ignored and then in about 6 weeks ==say end January 2007== someone in Colwick who sees the brownie points potential will come up with your idea, and get a rise, and be made "Head of Sellotape" for the following week. My idea with Hillarys and Ideas is--Treat the buggaires like the mushrooms they are --keep the swine in the dark and tell 'em nowt. They will only find a way to penalise you for it!! Blindsfitter Don't care who gets the brownie points, as long as we can all continue to run our own businesses as cost effectively as possible. And perhaps they'll send me roll of sellotape as a thank you Will let you know if I get a response. My best guess is I'll get a confirmation from Jenny telling me she's forwarded it to the relevant dept. then nothing more will be heard, except perhaps for an emphatic NO. (We didn't think of it, so it must be bad).

Put a message in to stop all further sales leads on tues as have 74 fittings pre xmas to get a 9.30 call from AM saying I am going to have my livelihood wrecked by him putting three more advisors in area in Jan as I am full time & not taking leads up to their main date. Just checked my diary to fing I have a full days fittings booked & also sales appts at same time! Cheeky sods have also booked appts up to 23rd. Was told to put off fittings till new year or best of all, fit between xmas & new year. Thanks, I have had 2 weeks hols this year while he has had 5 & I am not going to be in two places at once for anyone. Ok when on a salary but we only get funded by fittings but was told cash flow was my problem. Will not be my problem when new advisors screw up & want bailing out as last two jokers put in area! & I am not going to be forced out of this job, I will only go on my convenience & time. May be a long bumpy ride for some one & it wont be me!

Well there you go then!!!
The more you do for Silliards the less you are appreciated!!!
To use a typical Sillarys quote "You have only yourself to blame!"
Glad you've had a busy time up to Xmas though!!!!
You may well be the exception rather than the rule.
It's official ... this is now my worst Xmas run-up ever!!!!!!
Thank you Sillarys!!!!!! ..... For NOTHING!!!!!

been on to Ho to rejig things this morning. C leads have been told not to tell customers they will not now get blinds for xmas & are still promising delivery & fitting! There is going to be wholescale chaos in the new year as customers will be peed off as usual. & they want us to work as all retailers "do" between xmas & new year". Im having my third week off along with all the management thank you very much. Give me a salary & company car or shut up- no pay no say!

Who is your area manager - sounds like Mr Motivator to me - NOT!
What an utterly pathetic and weak style of 'management'. I suppose he'll go far with Hillarys.
