Red i agree with you. But how can a National Company only have offers in certain postcodes. ie 3-99 if its on it should be advertised Nationally, then we are all batting on an even wicket. Why? What national company uses the same product or even the same prices across the whole country? There are regional variations in taste and style, and in disposable income. I'm fortunate in living in the south, but I pay twice the price for housing than others further north. My supermarket prices are higher, my local council tax is higher, Hillarys blinds prices are higher. Before Morrisons took over Safeway, I spoke with a store manager. He worked at the Gosport store, I lived near the Horndean store. He told me I'll pay higher prices at Horndean than in Gosport because it's considered a more affleunt area, even though we're no more than 20 miles apart. sorry BVM, i am negative at the moment 'cos of 3 for 99s crap and faulty blinds, advisors on my patch, doing crap work. my f.s.m only last night informed me she is wanting to take me down to 2 postcodes, and only 14 leads a week, i could go on as you know. I have over the last 10 years or so sold on average £350k and more each year along with my wife. so when i see my business decimated through no fault of my own, how would you feel. I agree i struggle to sell awnings, thats mainly because of the price, and a local blind company called SWIFT BLINDS beat us hands down on price every time. I am a roof blind specialists, in 2 last night,. and indeed it was me who along with Kevin beardsley instigated the pythagoras way of measuring the d**n things, due to me being the guinea pig in fitting dozens of roofs with blinds that just weren't made right. No one gives more grief to the upper management than me, just ask Ross Kenney what i was bleating on about last night. I could go on.. With regards to north south divide, my council tax is 2 grand a year, diesel is 91p a litre, again i could go on. So please stop generalising that those of us who are the moaning bastards cant sell and the like. And Karen , totally agree we do have a choice of moving on if we dont like, but when all your eggs have been in Hillarys basket for so long, its not so easy. So as i have said many times before, if we cant come on here and vent our frustrations then whats the point. Its like they say, negativity breeds the same, we always dwell on the nuts, and good on yer if you are doing well. i usually do well, but well over the last 12 months i haven't, and its not down to my lack of selling ability. Why do customers ask for me personally if i cant sell. Worse still why do the call centre say i have left when i do get asked for. So again dont tar everyone the same. we have genuine concerns, and how much longer can we go on braying our heads against the wall. Have i posted this because i have just got back in from doing 3 service calls, for other advisors, and had 4 major d.o.rs whilst out fitting today.........................never mind, lets keep positive

Whilst I appreciate there are many concerns people have and they should be able to vent them this thread was discussing the Roadshows !!
Keep on going back to the same old problems stops the original thread discussion.
If you want to bring up the old problems start a new thread and see if people want to discuss them again with you.
If you've had a bad day don't forget the "Rants and raves !!!!" section to vent your frustration (see you there ;D).

Karen I hope you are going to explain the 24.68%commision statement , because if one agent can get this then why dont we all, or are you saying that there is going to be several levels of commision depending on wether you are in favour with your fsm or not. just so nobody is in the dark "reginald "is my name (agent brown) and I have been an agent for 27 years Reginald....has it not occurred to you that this might be a red herring - a touch of irony or satire from Karen, just to get a few of you going. There's always one who takes the bait - bit like April Fools. On second thoughts - might she actually be serious ? Nah, don't believe it ! Did someone mention April fool? ;D

at the meeting j riseman made a big point about the sheds IE B&Q etc. but what he fails to see is that Hillary's are not a diy company they are supposed to be the country's biggest and best made to measure blind company . he is good at telling us,now prove it. DUMP 3499.Keenasmustard, did you talk to J Risman about this and your concerns or were you too afraid of looking like a "brown nose"!? Karen ;D We need to put this whole "brown-nosing" allegation thing to bed. I have been with Hillarys probably far too d**n long, and have been to literally dozens and dozens of meetings with Management. The only common thread at every meeting is the fact that management changes very very quickly after their "new" old ideas become the true failures they always were. The good agents still sit at or near the back. There are always a couple of seriously over-keen " Isn't this just wonderful" agents, who are sure they have found the ticket to financial heaven. There is always a new product that turns out to be a turkey. ( remember Wood-weave with the cords in the middle?) There was always a company pint, until this last meeting. There was sometimes a Head Honcho who acts as your mate, and then promises heaven and ecstacy and then gets fired or disappears in a cloud. ( Remember Melissa Bunyan?--we will give you pre-Xmas cut off dates, we will not debit commissions if its not your fault, etc etc ad nauseam...) Karen, my dear, you did ever so well really--but why oh why when you were that close did you not strangle at least one of the bas****s? Why did you not ask about STOLEN COMMISSION. In failing to do this you have shown a scant disregard to recent history, and given a level of comfort to the back-stabbing swine we currently have as management( dont worry now , another lot will be along in a minute!) I do not know how long you have been with Hillarys--plainly under 5 years by your actions so far--but if its more, then how have you maintained both your income and your sanity by continuing in this vein. Were you selling Avon or Ann Summers before Hillarys? If so, then please ditch their scripts? Try double-glazing next I reckon its the next new thing to rave over? Coming soon to a window near you? Hereticus have a look in the dictionary you will see that satire is the use of ridicule, irony or sarcasm to lampoon an individual or individuals. I certainly do not think that this is justified. If you and the other moderators think that this is a suitable way to treat each other then I am afraid its goodbye from me Reg

Blindsfitter You've obviously got a very large chip on your shoulder haven't you and you're really quite sad!! I actually have sold Tupperware in the past and if you ask another advisor on this site, he was my manager, but posts annonamously, was extremly successful at that too! You never know he may post a reply to this. I sold Tupperware and then came to Hillarys after a 2 year stint working evenings at Nationwide, because I have 2 boys and this job fits brilliantly around them. We do this full time and don't earn as much as we did but our quality of life is much better! I have now been with Hillarys for almost 7 years and we intend to stay for as long as we can sell. Before that I had a high powered career and gave that up to become a wife and mum! I learnt very early on in life that shouting, patronising, screaming and insulting people gets you nowhere...........perhaps you should take a deep look at yourself and take a leaf from my book........you may be pleasantly surprised! Why are you hiding behind your user name too........would you speak to me like in person! If you did, I'm sure Alan would give you a bop on the nose We sat at the front at the roadshow along with the rest of our team and we're all doing very well thank you. The brown nose comments were aimed at me by keenasmustard....am I now not allowed to defend myself? With regards to the woodweave, why didn't you just move the controls to left or right...........very easy.........even I managed to do it ! Oh and by the way, this is something I wouldn't normally post, but I must admit you're all beginning to get on my nerves now........I've sold almost £10k this week, including 2 awnings, 7 shutters, lots of the new woods which I think are great, and £814 on 6 new roller fabrics with eyelets today to 2 custs. (probably would have sold much more but only got my samples yesterday!) I hope that makes you feel pig sick! Regarding the commission clawback, on the odd occasion this has happened to me, we have discussed with our manager and it's always been resolved for us. At least I had the guts to bring up our concerns with JR and his team instead of constantly posting about them on here and then not taking the opportunity to confront them at the Roadshows like many other advisors. I'm just really glad now that I didn't champion the commission clawback for you lot after the way I've been treated on this Forum over the past few days. Some of you are a disgrace and should be totally ashamed of yourselves.............if you think you can use your playground bully boy tatics on me, I'm afraid to inform you that they won't work. I just feel sorry for your customers........no wonder you're not doing too well with your current attitude! Also, I find it quite sad that I now have to come on to this Forum to justify and defend myself........I'm sure this was not what the Forum was originally set up for. Like I've said time and time again, but many of you choose to ignore, we've had our ups and downs with this business, 3 for £99 for a long time, few leads, missing blinds, aggressive and abusive customers (and now advisors too ), lack of support from h/o, even one lady came at Alan with a carving knife! And I'm sure some of this will happen to us in the future.....I'm certainly not looking at Hillarys thru "rose tinted glasses". But at the moment the business is going really well for us so why can't I shout about it on this Forum........ I just wish that some of you would act more like gentlemen........is it because I'm female that you feel threatened maybe? Karen

If you and the other moderators think that this is a suitable way to treat each other then I am afraid its goodbye from me Reg Reginald Please don't have a pop at Hereticus. Keenasmustard accused me of "sucking up" to JR and the management team at the Roadshow. In fact I was expressing my concerns and some of them have already been sorted. Obvously Keenas think's it's wrong for Advisors to talk to the management about anything!! And you can see from the postings attacking me the past few days, so are many other advisors. I took exception to being accused of this so simply posted my commission had been increased by JR due to me "sucking up" to him.....just to wind him up a little. Of course it's not true, afraid I'm still on the basic rate of 18.64%. Only joking ;D 14.68% really ;D Karen ;D

OK GUYS, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH I and other mods do not want to have to censor postings but if it continues we will have to step in. No more from this point on.

I obviously got you wrong and I am very sorry thatI had a personal pop at you,I feel that seeing fellow advisors from my area fawning over management as soon as they were spotted was a little bit sickening, seeing as its these people who are in control of the sad way this company as gone. I think it was your discription of your meeting that did it ,it certainly wasn't like mine ,they must have put things right on night 2. Its good that you are successfull in your area, other may not be, I like you have a very good area and believe it or not sell very well. Things are wrong with this company and to me the major one is that no matter what you me or anyone say's to management they will do what they like .this is clear from their attitude to this forum and the advisor network in general.this was obvious by the amount of new advisors that were there 30% thats some turn over. you just try and ask ross kenny see if you can get an answer.I couldn't and neither has anyone else. I am sincere with my apology and wish you every thing for the future that i wish myself including more bloody commission. I have noticed that i have a personal message from someone(probobly telling me to behave) Iwill read it after this post keenasmustard
