I don't know what all the fuss is about just having your diary open for sales and not doing any fitting. I have been doing that for the past 6 months. Plenty of no hope leads for 3 for 99s but not much fitting. It wont make much difference to me. In fact it has been that bad this year, I have just had my family tax raised from 34 pounds to 88 pounds a week, That shows how bad it is. Not just because my sales are down but also because my expenses are up due to SAM and petrol prices, so a double whammy. My driver tells me that he has seen a massive drop in the amount of blinds he delivers to advisor's over the past 2 years so where has all this 100 million sales come from?. Blue van man and Russel must be doing it all by themselves. Or Web blinds is more prominent than we care to imagine. Red Strange one this!! My deliveries come EARLY we are talking 7.00am to 7.30am and this morning I was chatting to driver ( as you do) and asked him who he knocked up earlier in the day as the van was half empty when re pulled up the back door roller, this morning " No, mate," he said " You are always first as you are nearest the Motorway exit I come off at" " So its a poor week for deliveries then"-- I queried? "Getting worse every week, if you ask me. There's stuff on there that was ordered last Wednesday and it was put in your bay last night when we loaded up" "They told us last week that rounds may be extended and a driver or two made redundant unless it picks up" I know he delivers to about 15 agents ---now if that is a trend nationwide, someone somewhere has a problem--mainly its us lot!! Get to know your driver, ask the question, theres a lot of insider Hillary info walking up and down your drive each week--go get some of it....... Bear A different to this is,- I am next to last drop off for our driver. After my lot, (or little as it has been for a good few weeks now), he delivers to the new advisor in town. her pile is as big as my pile used to be !!!!!. But---- on one side of the van it was full of blinds ALL GOING BACK ! IS THIS NOT AS IMPORTANT. Is it why the pile coming outis getting smaller each week. Cant continue selling crap.

Red Maybe you've found the answer Red - more kids ;D ;D In fact, take the Hillarys philosophy, and if you have the capacity to make 3 leads(kids), then squeeze another one and make 4 Think of the fun and enjoyment you'll get, not to mention the extra family tax. I'm reliably told that web blinds only do around 500 blinds/week against 20,000+ for advisors, so it must be Russel and myself - it's certainly not Oxfordshire or Berkshire is it Mike? What actually enrages myself on this subject is the little known fact that so called southern advisor's receive 20% commission whilst the geographically less fortunate of us 14,68% . Also i would like to know why the above think themselves Superior to their "poor neighbors "

If so, how far North does this finish. Red

Also i would like to know why the above think themselves Superior to their "poor neighbors " Definitely not true ! There may be an exception in London - I've heard it rumoured but have no details - but the rest of us all get 17.25% of the ex-VAT amount, which is calculated as 14.68% of total order value. And I certainly don't consider myself superior in any way - lucky, perhaps, being in an affluent area with lots of conservatories and not a lot of competition - but definitely not superior ! I reckon that you guys in the north are probably better salesmen than the rest of us to be able to make a living in a much harder business environment.

HI Russell
Tell me about it................we joined Hillarys just over 5 years ago and were informed about the bonus scheme. We got of to a flying start with sales and soon became full-time but on the several occassions we enquired about our higher commission level we were always knocked back and told it was no more!! I obviously joined a few months to late!!!
Don't know what all the fuss is about the travelling to the Road Show. All the large companies I've worked for in the past have had this type of thing. Most out of normal working hours and I've also been self employed with one too! Never got paid to attend these meetings but always relished the opportunity to meet my peers again and enjoy free food and drinks! It's a great opportunity to catch up with old/new friends, have a gossip and get to see new products and whats happening with the company..........whatever company that might be. I'm sure this is natural practice for most large companies..........it's good to see that the Directors are getting out of head office and meeting advisors too.
Maybe it's a female thing! I know I come across as a different way of thinking than most of you..........are you all male? ;D
Off to team meeting tonight...........first one since February.......looking forward to catching up with everyone and seeing the new wood venetians. Not getting paid for this either but sure will eat the food and drink the drink!! (Oh dear..........i sound like my 8 year old son.........he likes his food too!)
Karen ;D

I agree with you thelloydgang about the Regional Meetings. I too have worked for large companies and also been a sales director, all the companies had evening seminar/events and they were good for all the reasons you say.
Before we were moaning about the company "divide and conquer" policy now they are arranging for large groups of advisors to get together and we are still moaning !!
Let's not moan about the meetings, lets use them to learn and understand what the company is doing and why. If we are unhappy about what we hear then use the meetings to explain why we are not happy - if a large group of advisors agree then something may be done and it can't be claimed it's "just be you".

I think you'll be travelling to China in the cargo hold with all the Wooden venetian returns!!!!
You'll find it a bit cramped as there is a lot to go back!!!!

l come under the London area. Commission is 14.68% Bonus is upto 5%
Mismeasure fine(s) and you loose 1% of your bonus. ( which can mean you loose £100 + on your bonus, not a straight £20 fine )
Hope this helps clarify the situation.

HI Greenpesto Have you seen the new venetian range? We attended our pre-launch meeing last night and am really impressed with the quality of them. Have been assured that there are crate loads of stock available and much more coming! Definately feel confident in selling them now and Alan feels the same too! They're made by the same company who make our shutters. Karen
