just what is the correct time for the deliveries to start in the morning.i was once told that it wouldn't be before 7am? usually for me its any time around 6.30 am so i have a early start on delivery day usually arising by 6am.this week the prat came before 6am and the only time this week we had rain was that morning and where had he left thing ,yes youv'e got it in front of my garage, luck as have it they didn't all get wet only the vert boxes. this just isn't good enough there should be a set time when deliveries start so that we can make proper arrangments to take them in. admittedly this is the first time that this as happened but with the problems that doddgy has had,its something that will only get worse, and don't forget the bad weather is not too far off summer won't last forever and with fsm's attitude it will all be our fault not anybody else's SO BE WARNED.

Bear here Is this "iffy" delivering becoming the new stick to beat us with? Despite all the disincentives we get from Hillarys many of us are still here--so now they see a way of getting us annoyed (and out!) by delivering at wrong times and leaving stuff in the rain but also--and I just learned this today.... Dodgybrackets damaged 12 rollers for the conservatory were narrow and fairly short.... I am informed by a "source which monitors such things" that the ex factory cost of a roller under 80cm wide and up to 160cm long is under £8.70 pence!!!!!!!!! So if he had been fined £20.00 per roller they would have remade them and he would have given THEM profit of £11.30 per roller x 12 which is £135.00 and on top his commission on the job was clipped by 15%..!!!!!! A WHOLE NEW WAY TO SWINDLE THE AGENTS LADS, TREBLES ALL ROUND...!!!!! Bear

I had a relief driver last week turn up at 6.45am (approx 5 hours earlier than normal), my drive was full at that time of the morning so he parked on neighbours drive backed right up to her front door and she was still in bed i had to apologise next time i saw her (he did put them in my garage though.) Spoke to the normal driver on his return, he told me he is always getting told not to go early, has been known to deliver in the middle of the night and once someone called the police thinking a burglary was occuring! But apparently he is an old friend of one of the bosses so that makes it alright then.

I know this driver too!
He loads up the night before & delivers in the small hours of darkness. I think he either has another job or has the day free once he's delivered.
When he is due to deliver to me when my regular driver is 'off' he will normally phone me to make sure my car is clear of the garage.
I think he is also the same driver that is very well known for throwing everything into the van & throwing everything onto the garage floor.
Always check the ends of the vertical headrails & the boxes as they often get damaged.
I also get a little nervous when we have relief/agency drivers as my garage is used to store more than just blinds! ... I sometimes get the feeling that they've had a snoop around.
The only thing in my favour is that it is only me & the driver that has access to the garage ( family NEVER go in there! ) ... it's just a case of knowing if anything has gone soon enough!!!!!
I'm sure they'll deny it just as they do when they leave deliveries in the rain!!!!!

l believe it is against the law to penalise you to make a profit. To recover costs is OK, but not to make a profit.

l believe it is against the law to penalise you to make a profit. To recover costs is OK, but not to make a profit. You're right - think of the recent OFT judgment on credit card companies charging £25 for late or missed payments. These have now been reduced to around £12, as they must only recover the costs involved. I've thought for a long time that we should be charged the cost of mismeasures rather than a flat fee, and paid for DORs. The problem is, what is the cost? The direct cost is material and direct labour, but if they take the same approach to "fairness" as before, they could include overheads, like electricity, insurance, building costs, or even just admin time for raising and processing the order. Now here's an idea - if we were able to raise mismeasures on SAM, it would save a lot of admin costs, so we should get a 50% reduction on the fine

why are the drivers leaving the blinds outside when they should have a key to your garage or where you told hillarys to leave the blinds , unless they cannot gain access to the said place when they should take the blinds back to nottingham . This happened to me while on was on holiday daughter parked her car right up to garage door so driver could not gain access so took all blinds back to nottingham ....What a nice man..............

They are paid to do that--so thats all right then--- Mine told me ( when slightly drunk at a local cricket match!!) that he was "required" to look for other Blind Companies Boxes/Blinds in your premises when delivering--just in case you had a second agency--perish the thought!! bear

It's not my regular driver that I'm worried about ... it's these 'Mickey Mouse' relief drivers!!!!!
I don't think that one or two of these guys have a 'brilliant' alleged criminal record.
Sillarys won't care of course ... it's 'only me' stealing my own stuff!!!!!!

Even if he does know that an agent may be working to 2 companies, he would not inform Hillary's. If this insinuation continues, he personally, will be handing back all the keys he holds for premises, and he has keys for almost every agent on his run, houses, garages, sheds and in some cases the alarm codes as well, and he will then insist the agents are in for the delivery, or the blinds will be taken back to Washington. Also he would never leave blinds outside uncovered, and would take them back to Washington if he couldn't leave them somewhere. He has notes for all his agents, with instructions as to what to do at each address. This is left in the van, so any relief driver should know what to do. He also said that handing keys would not be helpful to anyone. The customer fit would be delayed, the agents would be inconvenienced. The driver would have a load of blinds that would be in the way for the rest of the delivery run, and dispatch woulb have to log the blinds back in to store where they would block space for the new orders. So please do not knock the drivers.

Blind Scout says 'don't knock the drivers !'
I half agree with him but will still knock the drivers or indeed anyone else when justified. The problem is the tendency to assume that they are all as bad and to generalise.
Most of the drivers do a great job and are thoughtful and sensible, then you get the odd idiot who leaves blinds in the rain or damages an advisor's property.
Most operatives in the call centre also do a great job, but we have all sufferred the stupidities of the minority.
The same argument can be applied to management, the factory, order processing, and every other part of the business, including advisors - yes, there are bad advisors out there who let the rest of us, and the company, down on a regular basis.
We should continue to voice our problems through this forum, and the previously mentioned idiot driver is a good example, but we should resist painting with too broad a brush, accusing whole groups of people by implication.
