Had a long chat with Red on the phone today and think what he is really trying to say is that we need to be able to fill vacant slots in our immediate (today / tomorrow) diary by bringing forward fitting appointments - but doing it through SAM so that the system immediately recognises what we are doing, moves the fit to reserve the slots, and simultaneously re-opens the availability for the slots that we've moved it from. Sounds good to me so we've added this into the SAM Development ideas.

Closing a Fitting Appt early on SAM automatically returns that availability (assuming there was any) to the day that the fit was planned for in the diary Regards Kevin ICT Had a long chat with Red on the phone today and think what he is really trying to say is that we need to be able to fill vacant slots in our immediate (today / tomorrow) diary by bringing forward fitting appointments - but doing it through SAM so that the system immediately recognises what we are doing, moves the fit to reserve the slots, and simultaneously re-opens the availability for the slots that we've moved it from. It also accepts LE16 blank/blank/blank - but I dont suggest you do it very often as it will take ages to compile the list and it will be like looking for a needle in a haystack - only useful when you have only got a partial postcode, or suspect that the last 3 characters inthe database may be wrong. Regards Kevin ICT Hi Jerry, Glad this is raising some good points. I would have a quick word with IT regarding this. Also make you are inputing the customer postcode in properly as it's really fussy. It won't like le16 xxx ,Le16 xxx but does like LE16 xxx . P.

Kevin - quite right but only solves part of the problem. If my diary tomorrow looks fairly empty I might phone a customer and bring forward a fit, but I cannot move the fit in SAM so I run the risk that Central Leads can still book a sales appointment over the top of my rearranged fit ! I do agree that your reply covers the second part of the problem, in that once a fit has been done the original availability is immediately opened up for diary booking. However, the fact that the fit remains in the diary for that day, albeit with zero slots allocated, can be confusing. Just like browsing the web, the more you can narrow the search the quicker it becomes and the more relevant the information you get - I find that if you enter the road name and the first 3/4 characters of the post code then you will always get a meaningful hit. It also accepts LE16 blank/blank/blank - but I dont suggest you do it very often as it will take ages to compile the list and it will be like looking for a needle in a haystack - only useful when you have only got a partial postcode, or suspect that the last 3 characters inthe database may be wrong.
