I too am fed up about this promotion. Yes we can try to sell up but it will still have a very negative impact on our lead effect (buzz term of the minute) and also our earnings. I understand that Hillarys need to be more price competitive on certain products to gain some market share in the middle ground but the timing of this is all wrong, if they had to offer such drastic promotions, why not leave it until January when leads are generally more difficult to come by. My availability up to Christmas will be determined by the quality of leads which I receive over the next week, I WILL NOT WORK FOR NOTHING..........

I too am finding that customers recieving this offer are not wanting to "buy up". When they see it printed in the press and on leaflets thats all they are willing to spend. I've already tightened my belt one notch

PILE THEM UP AND SELL THEM CHEAP...... ......is fine if the people who work for you are not out of pocket!!! I had a very long chat with my FSM yesterday. He said he was unable to change the "Hillarys Way", and that we all had to work that way if we want to stay with Hillarys. He asked me to give some notice if I was leaving, as other advisors weren't, and he was being left in the lurch. I think maybe this is a good time to take some extra holiday......

this offer is here to stay, Hillarys have painted themselves into a corner. they told us when clouds went to 2 for £99 it was only going to be there for a couple of months to generate interest then go. some jumped up fool with a framed certificate on the wall of their office is sitting with their head up their a**e telling management how great this offer is and how much business it is generating! i posted a question to mellisa on the thread 'talk to me directly' about the 'offer' last week. still waiting for a rsponse. maybe she's been drafted into washington to help make all the extra venetians we are selling i used to enjoy working for myself. now i dread the customer saying 'what about this 3 for £99' just after i've told them the blinds they've chosen will cost £400.

I suggest that we all "copy & paste" these views into an e-mail and send them direct to Melissa. Maybe they'll get the message

[I have just been informed by my driver that the London advisors have got together and refused to sell 3-99 and have told Hillarys not to even bother advertising them in their area
[glow=red,2,300]update by phugly[/glow]
I have to emphasize that this is only a rumour at this stage (unless someone knows different)

Luckily for me, no-one asked for 3 for £99 today. I was ready for them though! I have done as hgv suggested, and taken a few of the more yucky colours out of my presenter ready to say that's all we have left. I would rather sell none, than 3 for £99. It's bad enough doing 2 clouds for £99. On another note..... had 13 woods to fit in 3 bays, same room, today. All DOR's. What a waste of a day!! (I had also quoted for CN sides in their immediate neighbours house - they phoned me today, and said they would not be going ahead with Hillarys thank you...co-incidence??) I hope the new "relaunched" woods that they DOR them with are better.

Is there any truth in the posting about London agents boycotting the current promotion ?
Are there any London agents on this forum who can confirm or deny - truth or rumour ?
If I know it to be true then I have even more ammunition for the inevtiable showdown at our local team meeting next week !
London agents - please clarify.

STICK WITH IT EVERYONE. Do they think we enjoy complaining. Remember, the upline management all get a slice of WHAT WE EARN, no matter how we have to earn it. Like my accountant said to me, when he was telling me how much poorer i am fast becoming, "why do we need field sales managers anyway", good question i ask myself, I managed without one for the 1st 5 years of my tenure with this Company. I can work out my own lead effect, conversion rate, and when i am not performing very well. being self employed-(huh) we cannot afford to do poorly, So why do they have to be checking up on us all the time, telling us what we allready know.
I would like to bet any of them to do any better than I have done, and a lot of colleagues around my area, putting up with what we have to put up with. Without the back up of a salary, and all the comforts of being EMPLOYED. Who is paying us for this christmas break.?!! come on any f.s.m. I'll give you my figures, have a year off, and see if you can do any better. To say i am peed off with this lot is an understatement.

In general terms the 3 for 99 offer has acheived Hillarys goal of producing more leads, however they have not thought it through properly because the jump from 3 for99 to 2 for99 (clouds) is ok but then the gap between these and the rest of the range is too great. If this gap was reduced then I am sure that we could sell up and acheive what both parties desire which is higher sales value. I do not know what the difference in cost price is between the no1 price table and the no7 price table but if we can give 50% off no7 and still make a profit it can't be that much. I suspect that most of the fabrics we sell cost more or less the same and that it is only the appearance of the fabric that determines the selling price. This is deduced from the fact that nearly all the discounted fabrics work out at about the same final selling price. If we were to sell a selection of creams at a sensible price then I am sure that turnover would increase to a level which would enable the production line to be fully employed( which can't be the case at present because blinds are being produced so quickly they must just about be bursting into flames as they reach dispatch). Its about time somebody realised that a sensible approach should be adopted so that everyone can make a reasonable profit out of this business !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dealer threw me out, it seems they don't want the custom of window lickers and jerry springer audiences! they also disagreed with the views of Mark Lucas that you can get the same quality for cheaper looks like i'd best stick with my lottery ticket!!

This subject is going to go on and on and on - and quite rightly so, but here's an idea.
I haven't yet had a customer call me a con man or a charlatan, and I haven't yet been physically ejected from a customer's house, but I've come close and I can see the inevitability. How would you feel if you were offered a product at 3 for £ 99 but if you want a different colour they will be more than £ 100 each. This is a no brainer, and a disaster for Hillarys credibility and reputation.
So, if and when I do get abuse or threats ....in my glove box I have half a dozen stamped addressed envelopes to Hillarys at Nottingham for the personal attention of Mellisa Bunyan, Sales & Marketing Director....so, Mr Customer, please don't harm the monkey, put your comments to the organ grinder !
I really hope that I don't have to give any of these out (business is so bad I can't afford the stamps), but if it gets me out of a tough situation.......

I throw away most of the samples as soon as they arrive. I only carry the worst 5" vertical sample available. (Who buys 5" these days?) As soon as customer mentions offer, I explain it's clearance fabrics that's been going for a couple of weeks and this is all that's left. Next price up is 3 for £164. If that's over budget, I won't waste your time measuring
